Gran Caribe Real Brides 2012

Recommended Posts

I'm getting married here in a month and a half :) I will let you know how it is!

Our guests paid anywhere from $1300-$1600 from Canada for a 7 day vacation ( it is over our spring break too)

Good luck!

That's awesome!!! Yes please let me know your experiences after. I guess I am lucky to find a Canadian bride on this forum to help me out eh! :)

How are you finding the communication with the resort so far?

Are you doing a package or just sticking with the complimentary? Just based on what I've seen so far, I think we might just stick with the complimentary and then just do the a la carte for maybe my bouquet, cake and a private reception...

Wow! That's great! And you are planning to leave around the same time as we are. I should look into those prices as well with WestJet. If that is the rate from Vancouver...I wonder what it would be for Toronto coz it's usually cheaper from here compared to from our West.

I also wanted to know from any past brides... how was the English spoken by the officiant? Was it understandble?

We recently went to a friends wedding in Dominican, and we could not understand a single word. Stuff like that can make or break the feel and emotion of the ceremony so it's something important to us.

Well, my wedding is in May, so our travel date is from May 14-20. My TA from Westjet vacation is Vicki Leslie, she has been great. She even helped one of our guest change their itinerary even though they purchased through our group rate.

One other reason why we got such a great rate was because they had early booking bonus which was about $150-200 off if you paid within a month period after I got the quote. We told our guest and they had no problem, so that was a big saving for everyone.

Prior to Westjet, I've gotten quotes from Air Canada, Itravel2000, and Flight Center, none could compare. So definitely check out Westjet!

Is anyone doing the Civil Ceremony down there?

We thought about getting legally married here first but we still need to pay $600 for a Minister down there to perform the ceremony even if we are already married, which is kind of ridiculious!

We do not have enough rooms booked for the Complimentary package :( and that includes a minister

What is everyone else planning on doing? :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
