I've had great success with ours. It's only $29.95 for a year ... and we've had HUNDREDS of hits to the site. Monthly, I send out an email update with new info and direct guests to the website for detailed information. I also keep the Welcome page updated with a list of when new info is posted and what section it is in. I've even gotten RSVP's on the site. Except for not being able to get the music to work -- I LOVE it -- and people are using it ... but our guest list is also 165 people, so that might be why we are getting more hits. I think we have a few loyal people who check it regularly ... and then we see a huge spike in the days following an email update.

we had some people look at it - but probably could have done without. i think we paid about $95 and i would still do it again. i think we get more visitors now, since the wedding, than i did before. i don't recognize many of the email addresses and i know there are many people that are putting fake emails - but i assume it's mostly from this forum. it was a nice central place to refer people to - not sure a 2 year subscription is necessary though.

We have one and the counter says about 600 people have visited it. About 450 of that is valid- but that's because FI's family have 2 family forums (one for mothers side and one for fathers side) where all the siblings, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc... post daily. So when we announced our marriage at a surprise engagement party we threw, his sisters immediately put the info up on both sides. And both sides of his family check back regularly to our website to read news of what's going on with the wedding, and to see photos, etc...

I made mine a month ago & we've had about 150 visitors. I also didn't put the counter up until after a few days after I sent it out. People have loved having it. There is a forum where they are disscussing adventures to go on. I'm going to add a confirmed guests section once people start booking so everyone can start to get to know each other. I also thought the website was a great way to announce what we are doing & why. I think it helped with peoples shock of a DW to have it all explained right there on the website. I also think it's great to be able to put registry info & our feelings about not wanting gifts from guest, etc. on there. I love having a website & couldn't imagine planning a wedding without it. So many people have told me how much they've enjoyed it. Some friends have even been sending it to their friends to check out. It was also free so i think totally worth it. I think for a DW a website is really important. I'm off to check yours out too.

Tami Birckner & Tom Bollerman's Wedding Website - WedQuarters
I am using wedquarters too and I can't figure out the music!! At least I am not the only one.

I feel your pain tara... I have actually had alot of visitors, but I don't know who they are...must be the same people checking everyday and me of course! But what bums me out is that not very many people have signed the guest book or rsvp!! That is what I wanted the most!! I didn't even ask for a final rsvp...just a preliminary...

I still don't think it's a waste though...I know that all the info people will need will be on there and if they try and ask me...I will tell them to just look on the website! :) It will force them to go there!

Tara, I do think that since you wedding date is stil a good ways off, that you will likely not see a huge influx of hits on the site for a while. As time grows nearer, more people will check it out. I would use email updates to say "Hey! New info on the website! Check it out!" Every time I send out an email update, the hits spike tremendously for the next few days. And people start realizing that the website is where the information will be. When people call me, I tell them its easier to check the website and then email me if they still have a question. It seems to work, unless they don't have email/internet (I've found that's the case with some older relatives).

I can send you the email update that I sent out last week if you want to take a look! Just PM me your email address.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
