Paradisus Punta Cana (PPC) Brides POST HERE!!

hmm possibly. They may have sent her a note and asked her to stay out of it. I hope you can sort through the problems you are having. Its not always the best way but it sounds like a good time to send a not so nice email. You shouldnt have to go through any rough times like that. Wedding planning should be happy

awww, Thank you!!! :) I'm still on cloud 9 :)

Hi ladies.  My fiancee & I will be traveling to PPC in 2 wks for a site inspection and I'm wondering if any of you have any pointers on what to look for/ask about if you have done a site inspection?  We'll be doing food tastings too (his idea)...he's very involved in this planning process! Also...we really REALLY want to get married in a church.  He's Catholic, I am not (Im Christian just not Catholic).  However we've been advised all of the chapels and resorts in Punta Cana will only allow Roman Catholic Ceremonies.  I know the Majestic Colonial has a chapel, do any of you know if they would allow a wedding ceremony in there by a locally hired pastor?  I'm torn because I've fallen in LOVE with PPC based on pics and feedback from everyone, but we really would also love a religious ceremony in a chapel/church!  : (

Janet - Thanks so much for the information!

I haven't been on the forum in a while, but was surprised to read about all the changes with Theresa. I don't even think my TA knows about this, if she has, she hasn't told me.

We were thinking about booking DJ Mannia, but after reading that they are no longer the resort's preferred DJ, I'm glad we didn't book! What DJ did you use and would you recommend them?

If any of you are still looking for or considering videography....i HIGHLY HIGHLY recomend Video Punta Cana!!! Florian is fantastic. 2 days after my wedding he already put together a preview/trailer and before we left the resort to come home he met us with our DVD's and all the footage!!! and he is very affordable. I only mention this because you mentionned pics and since i wont have my pics until later this weekend, i will share the trailer with you which brought me to the subject of Florian and his company LOL :) so here you go.....enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/user/VideoPuntaCana#p/a/u/1/NKVudgrRbiA

Janet,

Thanks for sharing your video. You made me feel so much better about my resort choice. My wedding is May 12, 2012 and I'm getting restless because I don't know what I should be planning. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciatedcheer2.gif

* Question, should  I pick the poolside location for my reception or Gabi beach? I'm undecided

*Where did you have your cocktail party?

*Did the resort provide transportation from the lobby to the beach or did you walk over over?

*Did you purchase centerpieces or did you bring your own?

Hi keedon,

I'm glad my video put you at ease for your 2012 wedding. You will definitely be happy at PPC

You in Black....Me in Red :)

Getting restless because I don't know what I should be planning. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciatedcheer2.gif

Ask any questions you would like i would be glad to help and make my recommendations :)

* Question, should  I pick the poolside location for my reception or Gabi beach? I'm undecided

-I'm a big fan of Poolside :) its very romantic with the palm trees and landscaping all around, its especially nice with the lanterns. Gabi is nice but i was told a lot of negative things about having the reception section on the beach. Would stay in Gabi or go right on the beach? When i spent some time on the beach i could see that the negative things i was hearing were true. For example the biting sand crabs that come out in the 100's at night and the sand fleas

*Where did you have your cocktail party?

-My Cocktail party was right on the beach not far from the ceremony, i found this worked best since it was only for a little over an hour. My guests didnt have to go far and the hors d'oeuvres and set up actually would get used.

*Did the resort provide transportation from the lobby to the beach or did you walk over over?

-Yes, Miguelina had a trolly come to our room to pick us up, they even called us when they were downstairs waiting :)

*Did you purchase centerpieces or did you bring your own?

-I knew that i what i wanted would be heavy and difficult to travel with so i decided to purchase it from the resort and they did an amazing job. It was EXACTLY what i wanted. I got mutliple sized glass jars from votive height to about a foot in height with pillar candles in each one on a glass mirror.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
