Paradisus Punta Cana (PPC) Brides POST HERE!!

Recommended Posts

Oh and one more question....if I paid the $500 to reserve the gazebo for the ceremony, can I switch to the beach area in front of the gazebo if I change my mind when I get there? I find the beach photos incredibly beautiful but I think I'll need the shade of the gazebo since my wedding is July 2nd which will be HOT!

Thanks again ladies! I love this forum!

Hi Ladies!  I have read all 101 pages of this blog and it has been very helpful!  This is my first post.  We are getting married at PPC on April 11, 2014.  Pastor York is not available and he recommended Pastor Mark Lykins.  Has anyone had any experience with him?  Also, I have read the comments about the Arrecife people being pushy and rude.  Thankfully, I have not had that experience as of yet.  For those of you who had their pictures done by Arrecife, can you give me some feedback on how they were on the day of the wedding and how your pictures turned out?  This is a second marriage for both of us.  We work full time and have four teenagers between us so we are constantly on the go.  I am looking for as much simplicity as possible, so going with the on-site photographer would make my life a bit easier, but I am concerned about some of the reviews I have read.  I'm not one to be pushed around so I would nip that in the bud.  Just looking for some feedback on their professionalism on the day of the wedding and their work product.  Thanks!

the package that's $2500 has a videoagrapher. If you go with another photographer/Videoagrapher - you will have to pay an outside vendor fee which if I recall is $1000.00

Thanks so much!!

I also chose the Silver package which is $2550 USD. It includes photographer and videographer for getting ready, the ceremony, and the reception.

Hi Ladies.  This is my first post here and I am reaching my frustration limit with PPC.  With regard to Pastor York, you can reach him through [email protected].  He is not available for my wedding in April 2014, but recommended Pastor Mark Lykins.  He quoted me a fee of $350.  However, BEWARE!  My coordinator in Miami (Jessica) first told me that PPC would charge me $1000 (the penalty fee, as I like to call it) for anyone other than Pastor York.  Being SO sick of these ridiculous fees and upcharges associated with everything and given that Pastor York wasn't available and recommended Pastor Lykins (his colleague!), I raised a major stink and asked to speak with an on-site manager.  Jessica informed me that she had emailed the on-site manager and copied her on the response to me.  Later in the day (yesterday), Jessica e-mailed saying they would waive the $1000 fee, but that a Christian blessing is still going to cost me "$550+tax."  This is over and above the fee charged by the Pastor so with tax, the total cost to have a Pastor preside over your ceremony will be $999.  I have questioned this fee also and intend to fight it.  How can PPC justify charging couples $649 for a Pastor to walk on the property and preside over a 30 minute ceremony - especially when they do not have an "on-site" Pastor (the excuse they use to charge the $1000 for outside photographers/videographers/florists etc)?!

I just checked with my planner, and the outside vendor fee for the Pastor is $120.00 - Not $1,000.00. The $1,000 is only for the photographer. I'm so sorry you are having to go through that. Good Luck honey.

Hello ladies & some gents!

I can't believe I've read all 102 pages! I just made my deposit and will be getting married in August 2014 and am so excited! I'm currently using BeachBumVacation as my travel agent and Miguelina as my wedding coordinator. I, originally, had Laurent from the Miami office but my gut feeling told me I wouldn't get anywhere so I've opted to working directly with PPC.

Is anyone else using a travel agent? I'd like to compare the quotes that was given to be versus another Travel Agent. Also, do you think those contracts work in your favor at the end?

Happy planning!

Well, she finally got back to me to confirm that the fee for the pastor is "$120+tax." On another note, has anyone used the solo guitarist for their ceremony? They have no videos they can send me so I can hear it which makes it very difficult to book a musician. I was not that impressed with the female violinist - at least on the video they had of her. Also, I have read negative reviews about Arrecife being pushy and rude. Thankfully that has not been my experience and I am wondering if those who have used Arrecife have been satisfied with the photographer's professionalism on the day of the wedding, as well as the final product. This is the second wedding for both of us, we both work full time and we have four teenagers between us so I am looking for as much simplicity as possible in planning the wedding. I really do not want to have to deal with getting around their $1000 penalty fee and since we will be down there in prime season, it would actually end up being more expensive for me to bring in an outside photographer after booking him/her a 3 night stay. Therefore, I would rather just go with the onsite photographer unless, of course, their photographs are sub-par. Any feedback would be appreciated.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
