Ok, so I thought about it... I've been struggeling so much with myself lately about loosing weight but then I started thinking- wait!! Ok so lets say I will loose that few extra pounds. Needless to say that I will gain them all back in no time during the honey moon or later on. So what's the point?? If he won't accept me the way I am now, we have a problem dont we??

 I would appreciate your thoughts...

You are right - if he won't accept you the way you are then you do have a problem.  But I think most of the ladies try and drop a few pounds for themselves and not for their fiances/husbands.  And honestly I think the weight loss is more for the pictures than anything else.  This will likely be the most photographed day in your life so you want to feel as good about yourself as you can.  But of course that feeling of confidence and beauty doesn't necessarily have anything to do with your weight.  So it is a personal choice and if you don't want to put yourself through that extra hassle during one of the most stressful (and wonderful) times in your life, then by all means don't do it!

I agree with clgriffi7.

I want to lose weight but for me, not my FI. He loves me the way I am. I want to lose weight for all the reasons clg mentioned. I like myself in pictures better at a certain weight and I have more confidence in myself at a certain weight also. But I plan on trying to maintain that weight when I get there. For me it is just a weight I want for the wedding, its a weight I want for now on.

If you are confident and happy with the weight you are now, then I say donâ€t go through the struggle and stress of trying to lose weight.

Ditto.  I bet that anyone that has had weight struggles would agree that you should never do it (fight to lose weight) for anyone other than yourself.  Just focus on enjoying your wedding day and the days leading up to it, if you're happy with yourself then that's what matters!

just like the girls have posted, it's not about your FI at all (unless, he's said something and then you do have bigger issues)...it's about you and how you feel about yourself.  just remember you'll have pics of your wedding FOREVER!!! so, if you feel great about the way you look in your dress, then don't stress over those extra pounds.  but if you're going to look back and say "i should have put the extra effort into it", then i say yes, you really do need to do it.

over this past year of planning and looking at tons of wedding magazines, i've seen pics of brides of all shapes and sizes and no matter what, they look beautiful....it all depends on how YOU FEEL on that special day!!!

good luck!!cheer2.gif

I am a size ten...A very comfortable size ten. I alway wanted to be a size 4 ,but not really enough to do anything about. Plus I love food! MMMM Wisconsin Cheese.

The real reason I am dropping weight for my wedding is for the photographs. While I am completely happy with my weight on a day to day bases. I hate seeing myself in pictures. For what I am paying for my wedding photographs, I am going to be soooo mad at myself if I don't loose weight.

I agree with all of the other posts. I am a size 12-14 UK (8-10 US) on bottom and 8-10 UK (4-6) on top. I'm therefore quite out of proportion. I want to tone up my legs and bum to make me feel better about myself. As far as FI is concerned, the bigger the better on the bum side of things (he's a bum man!) but I want to slim a little for myself.

If you are happy the way you are, then stay as you are!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
