Hello everyone...is it crazy that...

WorstBrideEver

Recommended Posts

...I just started planning my DW set for December 12, 2010, today.   Like...in less than four months?

First of all, I'ved been lurking these forums for the past week or so, reading everything I could find re: a DW in Playa Del Carmen.  So much so that I decided solely on what I've read here to go ahead and book my wedding today at the Royal Playa Del Carmen in a few months.  Is that crazy?  The wedding coordinator I spoke to didn't say anything so I'm guessing it's not uncommon for people to impulsively plan a wedding in less than 4 months?  I haven't even ordered invitations yet...heh...but everyone's aware this was coming so they've been planning ahead. They also know me well enough to expect this kind of nonsense from me.  8(

Secondly, THANK YOU all so much for the insightful information and reviews you've each contributed.  I don't think I would've had the guts to plunge into this thing with so little time left if it weren't for all your sound advice.  I really was freaking out when I saw that some of you had been planning your DW a year in advance or more, but I feel a little better after reading all your posts. And confirming availability for that date, which was decided without consulting if there was even availability at the Royal!

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself, the WorstBrideEver, leaving everything for the last minute (there's a reason for that!).  I don't even have a dress yet.  All I have is the groom so far!

Thanks again!

Hello and Welcome!!!

I can almost guarantee that you are not alone, and you are NOT the Worst Bride Ever.  People have done a lot crazier things and you will soon find that out by searching through this site.  In my opinion, being a little crazier and not overly planning makes it a lot more interesting...as long as you are not super stressed.....have fun and follow your heart and gut.  It will all come together in no time, exp with the help of this site.

Happy Planning!

I think if you were one month out I would have said you were nutty but definitely still wouldn't make you the worst bride ever. Welcome to the club...now since you're only four months out, get to planning! Just kidding. Glad the site has been a helpful resource so far...look forward to updates as you plan. Good luck and happy planning!

You'll be totally fine to plan in 4 months, and you are SO not the worst bride ever!  lol  :)

I was in the same boat as you (kinda), planning in 6 months though.  Just be prepared that a lot of people you want to attend may not be able to afford it and/or take time off work since they dont have a whole lot of notice.  If you can live with that, you'll be fine.

You'll be surprised at how easily everything will fall into place once you decide the resort you are going with.  Thats the hardest part, and you've already done that!

Congrats and good luck with the planning!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
