Dreams Los Cabos Newbie

Hi! My fiancee and I are getting married at Dreams Los Cabos on December 20, 2010. We're so excited! I'm also excited for my site trip next week! Unfortunately, my fiancee can't make it next week due to work, but I'll be going with my parents. We've been in contact with Yarai, and we're scheduled to do a food tasting and to meet with the photographer and florist. We're also thinking about touring the boats owned by Sunrider Tours for a rehearsal dinner/sunset cruise!

Does anyone have any suggestions for me regarding the site visit? What should I make sure to see, book, and ask?

Thanks!

Emelie

Thanks!

You're right - this site is so helpful. Everyone is so organized which completely stresses me out because my wedding is only 20 weeks away and I haven't done anything yet! Ahhhhhhhh! At least I'm getting some ideas from this site

Congrats and welcome to the site.  I would make sure you check out the venues, the decorations, food, flowers, spa, rooms, etc.  Maybe you might even be able to see a wedding while you are there.  Yarai is my wc as well and she has been fantastic.  Please post a review after your visit to help those of us not able to do a site visit.

welcome to BDW...you can read my dreams review above in the resorts section.

yarai is fantastic and you will love working with her.

i guess for your site visit:

check out the restaurants

pools (see what area you prefer to hang out in)

different reception locations...

get a lay of the land, per se so you can give your clients tips on how to best maximize their trip to dreams

Thanks everyone! If there are any other Dreams 2010-2011 brides out there, please let me know if there's anything you want me to check out while I'm there next week. I'm worried that our trip will feel a little rushed since we're only there for 3 nights and have already scheduled so many appointments but I'll definitely do my best to check everything out and have a few (too many) margaritas for everyone! I'll make sure to do a review as well.

Also, I just wanted to say thank you to all past Dreams Los Cabos brides on BDW. This site has been so helpful already. I had no clue when I booked my site visit that Dreams offers free site visits once you've done a room contract. I haven't done my room block yet, but my TA mentioned the free site visit to the group coordinator and we were told that our 3 night stay will be used as credit for our room block! So thanks BDW for saving me $1000+ in my first week on the forum!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
