great review Chelle.

I am sorry they did not do anything for your wedding...the WC should have let the honeymoon dept. know...they usually do things for honeymooners after the ceremony.

can you also just copy and paste your review here: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/products/wright-travel-agency-destination-wedding-and-honeymoon-specialists

1. Sashes and table runners came from CV Linens.  I just added a link to their website in the review under Decor.  We used Aqua - Standard Width Satin Chair Sashes and Aqua Satin Table Runner.  They looked great!!!

2. Tucan Gazebo - Farthest gazebo to the south in the Nizuc section.  It has a super long brickstone walkway and the carpet they laid out was a tan color (not the red as they have in the photos).

3.  This is a hard question for me because I think we all have varying levels of expectations when planning.  As well, some details are very important to some and those same details could mean the slightest to others.  So, I suppose that after reading the reviews ALL over the place like everyone else....and paying the prices to go to an upper end resort...I assumed that "small" details would just BE.  For instance, a smooth checkin with someone acting like they knew you were there with a group to be married....like they knew you were the bride and groom.  In fact, all of the details of check in....not just here's your bags, go to the front desk and then be escorted to your room.  Isn't it supposed to be handled just a little bit above the bar?  I assumed so and don't feel as if they achieved that with us.  Or how about little details in the room.  Turndown service?  For some reason I thought this was a nightly part of our room package....but alas...it didn't happen.  A surprise in our room?  Such as....a bath...or flowers...or SOMETHING?  Not this time.  These are just a couple of the details that I recall off the top of my head.

All in all....we were very pleased with the resort...the food, the rooms, the pools and the people.  You never walked by a staff member without receiving an "Hola".  It was very nice!  Looking back, I wouldn't have done anything different given our family group that we went with.  Everyone was taken care of and ultimately left happy!  However, we are looking forward to taking a trip with just the two of us to a slightly more secluded spot next time.  IT IS what you make of it and we MADE it a Fantastic time!!!!!!!

Yes, when I stay at Aventura Spa Palace I was greeted with a cold towel, flower and given a drink upon arrival. That left a great first impression.  However my SIL and BIL didn't get either as the desk was really busy when they checked in.  Also they did not have champagne waiting in their room when they arrived as we did.  I think these inconsistenicies is what give MP such mixed reviews.  My hope is that my guests are greeted with a towel, flower and drink so they immediately feel they are being pampered on this trip.  What is even worse is that you were there for a wedding and they didn't seem to acknowledge it. sad.gif It seems they should have done something extra special for you because of this.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
