I've been going back and forth trying to figure out the best one to have our ceremony in! Its so hard when you are not there or you havent been there to really sort everything out and make the best decisions.

We've also been second guessing the dinner at an a la carte restaurant and private beach reception after because we havent been able to find much feedback on the private beach reception. We are thinking we might switch to the chill out lounge as well! Ahh.. I'm so bad at making decisions when I cant wrap my head around all the details in person.

We are going to be flying out of Toronto - Pearson International. How about you?

We were hesitant on March 15 being the final RSVP date, but at the same time we realized how much will have to get done in the 3 months after we have our final numbers so we decided it was OK. The final payments for our group travel are on April 26th so we figured by March 15 most people will know if they are coming or not (hopefully!) 50 is a great number!!

Are you doing the Jr Suites or Swim Up rooms?

Have you gone dress shopping yet?

Our main reason for choosing the sunset gazebo was that it is much more private. I heard from my TA and 2 other friends that went to the resort that people there is people in  beach chairs very close to the riviera gazebo. We honestly didnt want to be worry about having a random guy in a speedo in our wedding ceremony photo hehehe. Also, the chill out lounge is very close to it.

Before we were set for doing the beach reception, which I think is $85 per person, but we have heard only great reviews from the chill out and then again is so much more private. Also, I heard it would be a long walk from the beach reception to the washrooms.

In regards to the room, we have not decided yet. We are hoping to get a nice room, not necessarily a swim up, since I dont think we will be hanging in the pool of the swim up rooms. And I know most of our guest just get the jr suites. What about you?

I have only gone dress shopping twice, but no luck :(. My first time was in David's bridal and my second time was last week, I went to Best of Bride (next to Kipling station). What about you? Any good bridal stores you recommend in the GTA area?

We are also flying out of Toronto. I live in Mississauga by the way.

Hi There, I'm also looking to get married in Jamaica - just got a couple of quotes on the Riu's in Ocho Rios, Montego Bay & Negril....we are trying to keep cost down and asked for quotes between 12-1500... Let me know what you find...
Hi SoontobeMsL! I'm fron Ottawa and looking at Jmaica also, for spring 204. The date depends on when the best prices are; sometime between last week of Feb to end April. What dates have you gotten quotes for? I think I'm down to either Iberostar Rose Hall Suites, or Ru Montego Bay.... Any thoughts? I would like the Riu Ocho Rios, but the 2 hour drive from the airport turned me off. Thanks, and good luck to you in your planning.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
