how I lost over 60 lbs last year.

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies,

So I wanted to bring to your attention something that I recently tried and am really amazed by it. It isn't a long term solution but for the brides/grooms who can afford it and need to lose weight quickly I would highly recommend Burnstein's diet clinics.

They have clinics in BC/AB and ON in Canada, and Florida and Virginia in the USA. It is pretty awesome.

Last year I was on it and I lost about 60 lbs in 4 months. I managed to keep most of it off, but I couldn't afford to continue so, I decided to try it myself, but it really hasn't worked. I am considering going back before my wedding.

I hope this information can help you. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about it...I will be more than happy to speak to you about it.

xo

I've heard some very scary things about this diet. Some people have become very ill after being on the plan... or lost their hair, or lost lean muscle. I'd do some serious research and consult your physician before considering this diet.

I was wondering about that Oryx. Like I said, I have seen people lose a lot of weight by doing this, but I dont have a clue about the side effects. I know the program here in TN you are actually seen by a doc, and they do a physical and everything. I am kind of scared of taking pills, anyway. But I guess if anyone is considering it, I think they should research it anyway.

I have a friend that did this diet. It cost serious $$$. She was allowed to eat about 700-800 calories a day. She had to go in several times a week to be weighed in and get injections. She was already pretty slim to begin with, she lost about 20 lbs and has kept it off (she did it several years ago). However, when she was on the diet, she was miserable and only thought about food. The people at the clinic would yell at her if she hadn't lost weight when she went in. All in all, it might be fine if you only have a little bit of weight to lose, have great will power, and do it short term. However, I personally do not have the will power to live on 700-800 calories a day.

I too know people who have been on this diet - they lost tons of weight, and of course, gained it all back (and more). Anybody will lose weight when you're only eating 600-900 calories a day. And the vitamin shots have been linked to gall bladder and liver disease. Eating well and exercising are the only way to lose weight and keep if off without compromising your health. There are those who believe this program is an expensive scam - after seeing how it's "helped" some friends, I don't doubt that belief at all. I'd be curious to hear if anyone has had long-term success with it, without any health issues during or after the program.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
