Am I the only male on here? I'm Shane from Denver, CO by the way...

We're undecided about our destination so far. The good reviewed resorts seem to be out of our guests' price range so we're trying to sift thru the mixed reviews of the more cost effective resorts. Looking at a date between late April and early May 2011.

We should have a decent sized group of 40-50 with plenty of guests who like to party! Not looking for a spring break drunkfest type of resort (we're mostly all 5-7 years out of college besides the older family members), but something with plenty to do (fun bars, golf, casino, volleyball, water-skiing, etc) and where our guests always have a cold drink in their hand if they choose. Nice beach for activities and lounging along with a nice spot for the ceremony. Basically we just want to have a 3-4 day party with our fam and friends ending with a beautiful beach wedding and nice dinner reception followed by plenty of drinking and dancing. Oh, and all for a reasonable price! So if anyone has any experiences or ideas please let me know!!

Good luck to everyone with their planning!

Welcome and congrats! I think there are a few other grooms on here you can connect with it. I think it's great you're involved in the wedding planning. Your wish list sounds great but you might want to try to figure out your country first and then narrow it down from there. There's so much information on the forum to help you pick your destination. Good luck and enjoy your planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
