My fiance and I just returned a few days ago from Grand Palladium in Punta Cana. We spent 4 days there when we were checking out resorts for our wedding. We loved the place! We had a basic room and it was very nice and clean. Had a nice jacuzzi tub and great view of one of the many pools with swim up bar. The whole resort was VERY well taken care of and the staff were wonderful! It seemed to be a very popular resort with Canadians. There were 2 wedding groups there and the weddings were BEAUTIFUL! The beach is wonderful and there were tons of beach chairs to choose from too. We talked to a lot of people who were on their 2nd or 3rd trip to that resort because they enjoyed it so much. We found the food to be good. The main buffet has tons of options and was constantly replenished with fresh food. There are lots of good dinner options too! The Japanese was our fave!!

Best wishes for your wedding there, I think you guys will have a wonderful time!

Jane,

I've been to this resort in 2008 and we loved it so much we're getting married there in Nov of 2010. We have family coming from all over Canada and I know they will all be impressed with the resort. You have nothing to worry about, it's really what you make of it and how flexible you can be. Of course you'll have to deal with things running on "Carribean time" but just relax and enjoy yourself.

Just came back from being married there and it is beautiful. It is basically the three resorts in one. The Bavaro section has three great restaurants. We ate at all of them and honestly the food was great. The resort is so well maintained... clean and great staff. Our room was very nice (we didnt upgrade but it was just fine). Dont worry about what you read on Trip Advisor. I am telling you the entire resort was just lovely.

I also just got back from my wedding at The Grand Palladium Punta Cana, You have nothing to worry about!! My only compliant was that I was to lazy to walk around the whole resort and tended to take the train more then I needed to!! lol

Its beautiful, the grounds, the people, the food, Everything is amazing. I'm the type that likes to go to a different resort every year and we have already decided that were going back next year and we only got home on Sunday!! lol I highly recommend this resort, its my Favorite out of any resorts I've been to!! :)

Good luck!!

Mrs. Military-to-be

I am also getting married at Grand Palladium Resort and Spa in Jan 2011. Please if you could post some pictures. I am especially interested about the wedding ceremony on the beach vs gazebo. The new gazebo looks amazing but I only saw few pictures. Any info would be great.

Also any other brides out there who had had a wedding there and chose the reception on the beach? Or is this what they call a beach party. I saw on one forum a set up on the beach very formal and beautiful.

Do not worry about the resort. I have sent my parents a year ago to Grand Palladium Resort which is a sister resort on the grounds. They had nothing but the best to say (the reason why I chose it for my wedding).

  • 1 month later...

I am getting married at Grand Palladium (and we are all staying on the Bavaro) side and I am thrilled, can't wait. And TripAdvisor is useful but it also needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Usually when a few select people complain about the food (and it is only a few, most reviews of the food are good!) it's because the issue is with them - they're picky and wouldn't like anything anyway. And as for the ones who say they got sick and blame the hotel, well it probably would've happened at whatever hotel they went to - heat, booze, and different food does that to some people. And as for the rooms, well, it isn't a North American hotel so they shouldn't expect such...besides I think the rooms look beautiful. You chose it because YOU liked it, right? That's all that matters.

Check out the Grand Palladium thread for pictures and stuff...you may have the scroll through a bit but there's lots there!

To all the upcoming brides - there is a thread about the Grand Palladium Punta Cana that we always post on - my wedding is coming up in 3 weeks, and a few other people have gotten back. IT's loaded with pictures, information etc...so I would check that out as the services and locations are all the same for each resort.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
