  1. Hi there, my seller was :  enchantment4all  Very easy to deal with, inexpensive and I was happy with the product when I got it.  Hope this helps !
  2. I've got one word for you.......E-Bay. Got mine on there, white with ribbon edge and Swarovski crystals for about $25.00 delivered to my door in about a week. I can get you the sellers name if you're interested but there's tons on there.
  3. Melli, I don't know about HDC but Jorge Allecco does video for sure. I think I'm going to end up with HDC, pretty reasonable package and I've seen a couple of good reviews on their work.
  4. Nov 20th. Now that I've done a little more research I've found a few packages that are much more reasonable. HDC and Jorge Allecco are the two I'm deciding between.
  5. Sarah: I do have someone interested in coming with us to take the pictures but that will cost me about $1500. Was looking for a more economical solution. Melli: I think I'll put that in the Sept-Oct file once I get all the legalization paper work done. Thank you both for your input. I'd really be happy with 20-30 pictures and a disc to make my own prints and book once we get back. Neither one of us enjoys getting our pictures done and enough of our guests will have their own pics to share also. I know everyone keeps saying that the pictures will last a lifetime.......well I'm sorta hoping my marriage does that too
  6. Thank Melli, are you booking one of them in advance or are you just going there and dealing with it then ? I was looking at Jalu.us and it sounds like their prices are negotiable from the email he sent me.
  7. Hello, We put a little "flyer" type of thing in with the invite that had all the travel agent's info. The at the bottom we put: "We understand that not everyone will be able to make it, but the fun doesn't stop here. Local reception planned for early 2011, details to follow" Hope that helps
  8. Hey there, I'm a little unsure on how to proceed. I was hoping to book the resort photog when I got there......do they need more advanced notice than that. We arrive two days before the wedding. We only want a handfull of pics and maybe a disc, not a big 2-3K package like most of the ppl here seem to want. We're getting married at the Grand Palladium Bavaro if that makes a difference. Really don't wanna have to deal with calling a bunch of places and haggling over prices and packages. Just want an hour or two's worth of pics. Any suggestions you can offer would be great.
  9. Jane, I've been to this resort in 2008 and we loved it so much we're getting married there in Nov of 2010. We have family coming from all over Canada and I know they will all be impressed with the resort. You have nothing to worry about, it's really what you make of it and how flexible you can be. Of course you'll have to deal with things running on "Carribean time" but just relax and enjoy yourself.
  10. Hello, I'm wondering how everyone decided on their wedding date?? did you know before you went to the travel agent or did you get what was avail at your destination ?? I'm more concerned with the "day" than the "date" as I want my ceremony on the 3rd day of the vacation so I'm not waiting for days and burnt by the time it happens. Any suggestions are appreciated.
  11. Most of the group rates are based on 10 ppl or more which shouldn't be hard to do considering we're having an actual wedding party (two on each side). I guess I just gotta play the waiting game until the new pkgs come out and go from there. So how did you go about picking your date? was it based on what days were avail or did you have it set when you brought it to the travel agent ?
  12. Woodsy: I really want to use an agent only because my family is spread out all over the country. I figure I'm paying for their services I want a single point of contact (and a toll free #) that all my guest can call into and make their arrangements once we've secured the rate.......I can't be the only one who's gone through this. I've had some ppl tell me to forgo the group rate and just look after B&G but that's really not what this is about because the group pkg includes lots of extras and upgrades for us too.
  13. Well the problem with setting the date is I'm really not particular about the "date" but more of the "day". I'll explain, I want the ceremony on the 3rd day of the vacation so I kinda have to wait for the new pkgs to come out before I can set the "date". Don't want the ceremony towards the end of the vacation because I'll be to anxious and probably burnt by then. So how do I proceed
  14. Hello All, I'm starting to plan for my DW in Dec 2010. I know the travel rates won't be posted until Jan 2010 but I really don't know which step to do first so need your help. A little background, we started this process with the travel agent for this year but decided to postpone due to financial issues so I already know about how much the pkg is gonna be. Here's my problem: The travel agents want a head count and deposits within 2 weeks of providing the group rates. Only at that point have we secured our actual pkg and ceremony date. So how do I send an invitation without knowing what date the wedding will actually be ? And how do I prompt ppl to make their deposit within the 2 week time frame considering the invites take 3-4 days to be delivered? I know a lot of ppl have suggested a wedding website but not many of my family are tech savy so unfortunately that's not an option. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Jill
