I think money coming from my dad's pocket might have something to do with the 4 of them coming lol... but like my mom said - don't ask questions! lol

Forgot to mention, a HUGE plus about them coming is that my FSIL (my one brother's fiancee) is actually an esthetician and will do my hair and makeup for me!!! :) She did my makeup, along with all the other bridesmaids and bride (my now SIL) for my other brother's wedding this past summer and did such a great job!

Brandy - I did look online at Macy's, but that was one place I was going to check out on Friday.  The problem is that both guys are kind of big...the best man is like 300 lbs big and I don't want him to be uncomfortable.  I would really like to get short sleeve, and that's a problem at this time of the year....  I definitely plan to check Macy's though!

In other news... sorry, I have to rant and this is the best place to do it.

My BEST FRIEND planned a trip with her current bf to Australia before I got engaged. Long story short, I planned around her as they were only going to be gone about 6 months... I made it so my wedding fell a few months after they got back. Well, they, well HE changed plans and now they want to stay for 2 years (HE capitalized because she doesn't really make the descions, he does... and he's really never cared to get to know me, my FI or any of our group of friends). Her and I had a huge fight about this before she left, because she promised me that she'd still come. I bought her bridesmaid dress for her and had everything ready to go. She mentions to me that if they can't find flights out from Au. to Jamaica that are less then $2000 (including hotel) they won't be able to afford to come. WHAT? We're all paying $1700 to go flying from Canada, you really think you'll find flights for $2000 from Australia? Her response: "Well you guys went to Mexico for $500 last year, I thought it would be like that" (note, we went last minute on a super good deal...). Either way, before she left we came to an understanding (sort of) and after crying about it for months I decided there was nothing I could do so I should stop letting it bother me.

Today I'm reading her bf's facebook and he mentions to a friend that they have a lease signed in AU until Feb then they're thinking they may tour Asia for 2 months or so and go from there... I love how they can spend all the money in the world travelling but coming to my wedding isn't priority. I mean, her and FI are great friends too, we're all in the same really small tight knit group. I've talked to her on skype a bunch of times already and she hasn't brought up the wedding once.

Am I being insanely selfish? I mean... we knew going into this that many of our friends couldn't come but she's my best friend since grade 9 and it's not like she can't afford it, or can't get work off, it's literally that "there are better things to do"... that's how it feels a least.

Tris, that garter set is so cute, you'll have to post some pictures of yours when you can, id love to see it in your colors!

As for your best friend, im so sorry, thats so frustrating when somebody that close & important to you cant make your big day a priority! Have you talked to her about how you feel? Some people get so wrapped up in their own lives sometimes they dont even realize how their actions affect other people. As for your best friends BF, he kind of sounds like a tool !

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
