April 2011 Brides

I had to share with all of you...  This morning I went with my matron of honor to see how her dress fits now that she's had her baby and been able to work off all of her baby weight.  I'm not sure if I've completely mentioned it on here, but originally we were to get married this past September here at home.  That didn't work because of things with the church and my FI being previously married.  Shortly before we had to put my dog down in May, I decided life is too short, and I'm doing the wedding the way I (and FI of course) want it to be!  So, we decided on Mexico.  It's been a very rough planning process for me up until we made the decision to have a DW.  I had an issue with the girl that I picked to be my MOH in the first place, however we have worked hard to work things out and she is now a bridesmaid....  But, I haven't been completely excited about the wedding until yesterday and today.  Yesterday was exactly 6 months out for us, and I can't believe we are getting so close!  Today after going in and discussing what alterations need to be done on the MOH's dress, my dress, and the dresses for the other two bridesmaids, I finally feel really excited/nervous for the whole process.  I think it's FINALLY hit me that this is REALLY happening and I just can't wait.  With all the obstacles I've had, it almost felt like it would never happen.  Finally I have that feeling, and I am so excited about it!!

I am so glad to hear that everything is finally working out for you. The process alone is a tough one without the drama so when there is drama it puts alot of stress on the bride who is planning almost everything and wants everything to be perfect! This should be the happiest time in your life and don't let anyone ruin it for you. Get excited, stay excited because it is EXCITING! Yay for all of us! lol 6months away and you watch it will fly by and you will finally be married to the man of your dreams!

Ellabaja - I'm so glad to hear it's working out for you. It sounds like you're having a tough year and deserve to put you and your FI's wedding as a priority. It is so exciting knowing how quickly all our wedding days are approaching.  The more we plan and get settled the more exciting it all becomes. For me it's almost worth being away from home and working so much overtime so that we can have our dream wedding paid for months in advance.

Thank you ladies!  I am just so excited and I'm so happy because now it's easier to get things down.  It will fly by!  I just keep thinking about how busy the next two months are going to be with the holidays, and preparing for them.  Before I know it, it will be January and we'll be getting our alterations done and everything else!!!

I guess it also helps that people are booking as well!!

I don't think you are doomed.  It's totally doable...assuming you get them out soon!  For us, most of the guests we were inviting knew about it anyway.  Have you gotten together with a TA to get the travel plans started?  Between discussing things with the TA, sending out the STDs, and working with the WC at the resort, those should be your priorities...I would say.  I know some of the other girls have taken care of there complete trip (paying for it), but that was to get the savings they had discussed with their TA.  For us, ours isn't due until the middle of March, so that works for us and our guests as well.  What have you done at this point?  Good luck!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
