Jellyfish Restaurant

Recommended Posts

so i've been in touch with Mayte about possible dates, and i'm so excited to possibly have my wedding at the Jellyfish! i have some questions about the decorations... i've seen a lot of beautifully decorated reception tables at Jellyfish with tons of little details. The decorations (other than real flowers) such as shells, starfish, glass pebbles, menus with the little details, the place cards, little napkin details, etc... are these items all included in the $500.00 reception decoration fees? what about the large lanterns that several brides used for the dance floor space? how about the decor for during the ceremony, like the candles along the aisle and the lanterns on the wedding canopy? Included in the ceremony decoration fee? what about table numbers... if i'm thinking of just doing basic picture frames with the #s, is that something she could do or is it easier just to bring my own? also, i like the idea of attaching my place cards to large starfish, would Mayte be able to supply the starfish or is that something that i would have to purchase on my own? Thanks for your help ladies... i'm sure as time goes on i'll have more and more questions :)
Here's what we brought down to the Jellyfish: -placecard buckets (pic in profile) -tiny starfish (were on napkins, menu cards, and table numbers. All of which Mayte made) -all of our candy -the glass pebbles (we got them cheap at Pier 1) -Our cake topper -green lanterns (Mayte had the white and turquoise already) The placecards, table numbers, and menu cards are included and Mayte will do them especially for you. We did our placecards on the little white buckets filled with jellybeans, because that's what we liked. It was just easier to do it at home. The big white starfish, Mayte had already. My biggest suggestion is that you should ask Mayte if she has your colours available in lanterns, sashes, tablecloths, etc. and if not, then you can get exactly what you want and bring it down to her. We left the majority of our stuff with Mayte, except for the keepsakes like the cake topper. She really appreciates being able to add to her selection because it is so difficult for her to get stuff. Also, find pictures of what you like and send them down. She will do her best to match what you send. That's how she did our cake and centrepieces. As for ceremony decorations, I don't know. Our ceremony was at the Majestic Elegance. Good luck and happy planning!! Don't hestitate to PM me if you have more questions or want to see more pics. I'm happy to help!!

Hi ladies,

I'm so happy, my fiance and I just confirmed/reserved our date with Mayte woot.gifDecember 30, 2013!!

MissyBee - i just asked Mayte about possibly getting a steel drum band for my ceremony and cocktail hour. I know that there have been some brides on here that have mentioned Mayte was able to organize a steel drum band for them and it had been around $250.00 for an hour. I just sent her an e-mail asking so if you're interested in something like that, I'll definitely let you know when she sends me info.

Does anyone know if the little shells that are on the menus and place cards and table numbers come from Mayte or if those were brough by the brides. AquaCait, I know you mentioned you brought the mini starfish, but do you know if Mayte had the little shells available?

Thanks!!

Hi Ladies!

I Just confirmed my date for the Jellyfish on July 3, 2013! Like you all I am super excited but I have so many questions! I was going to have my ceremony at the hotel... but the only time for the ceremony is 1pm.... which is way too early so I have switched everything over to the Jellyfish!

Is anyone getting married at city hall before you go down? My travel agent says its too much paperwork and trouble to do the legal thing down there... any opinions on this?

Thanks!

Kristine

Hi!  Random question that is not very Jellyfish related but wondering for any who has already gotten married at Jellyfish but stayed at a resort with wristbands, were you able to take them off for the occasion and just get another wristband when returning to the resort that evening?  would rather not have neon plastic bracelet in my photos lol

Thanks!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
