I need a photographer in PV....any recommendations?

Recommended Posts

I know this forum can be overwhelming, but there are lots of helpful threads about photographers in PV. Have you tried doing a search?

Also, when you find one, don't be afraid to ask for a different package that fits your budget. They might be able to work with you to find a compromise. That's what I did and it worked out perfect!!

have you tried Elizabeth Medina? She's in the PV area. There's someone else who's a vendor on this forum who's based in PV as well but I can't remember her name. If I remember it I'll come back and post. I think the Claudia Rodriguez team are based in mexico not sure if it's PV although I'm sure they could get a team member there quickly.

You may want to check out some of the local photographers in the Florida area close to you as well.

I just booked with Jillian Mitchell who is local, but from the United States. She speaks Spanish which is awesome since we don't speak any at all and we're getting married in one of the smaller towns up North and she's been really helpful as far as recommending caterers, designers, and just general help about the area. We were only down once a few years ago so it's nice to have someone down there to communicate with! She seems pretty easy going and worked within our budget so I would definitely check her out. Her website is jillianmitchell.net. Good luck!!

I used Elizabeth Lloyd and really loved working with her. Here is her website: http://www.elfoto.org/ My wedding can be found on the second page of the weddings (Amanda and Micah). She only live in PV half the year during the peak wedding season.

I used Paulina Ulloa for my trash the dress and I have yet to receive any photos or any response to the multiple emails I have sent asking about the status of the photo. My wedding was in May and I was told it would take 1 month to get the photos back. I know several other brides are in the same boat but used her for the actual wedding.

    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
    • My sister has done it but with the destination wedding, only super close family members and friends came since it was expensive and farther. It was great though.
