Cabo vendors slow to respond?

Recommended Posts

I have emailed probably more than a dozen vendors in Cabo for information and have only received a handful of responses. Has anyone noticed that a lot of vendors are slow to respond or completely non-responsive?

The vendors I contacted include a few wedding coordinators, rental company, and a number of hotels / venues. For most of the hotels I filled out a contact form on their website, so I don't even remember exactly how many I've requested info from. The few people I did receive a response from took a long time to respond.

I think everything moves slower in Mexico. I had a few slow responses, some were based on the language barrier and others were... who knows? I know I sit at a desk all day and respond to emails immediately... I don't think that happens as much down there. Some people you won't hear from at all. I just kept resending.

Yes this is very true. WHen I was planning my cabo wedding I found that if you mention your wedding date (for me is was several months away) they won't even respond. They do everything like 2 months before (well except the big items, IE photographer, resort, etc) I ended up hiring a WC, because they know everyone there and can deal with all that stuff for you.

But with all that said, like someone else mentioned we have so much information on the cabo area on the forum already, so hopefully those thread will help answer your questions.

  • 2 months later...

I havent had too many problems with this. It seems that many of the people I have called are pretty prompt. This is true of my florist, DJ, hotel, and photographer. I contacted several different vendors and if they didn't get back with me within a week, I crossed them off my list.

I have problems maybe with a couple of vendors in that matter, however, I think it is something that helps to choose. Finally will work with the people you feel that is taking good care of you. One thing that really help was my wedding planner following closely in the vendor for me on the phone. I emailed everything to Gretel at the Villa del Arco, and she was always aware of my questions, and needs and called directly the vendors. So after all I did not deal with them too much. She did a great job in that area, too.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
