I didn't want to have a destination wedding at first because of the babysitting situation, but everyone assured me it would be ok.  I still worry about it though!!! I'm glad our first night will be just the two of us, but a part of me wants her first airplane ride to be with us and not with everyone else!  I want to play on the beach with her and show her the iguanas but I feel the same way you do it's still our wedding/honeymoon and we want to be able to share it with the friends that came with.  I really wish I had family in that age range that I could pay to watch my daughter!  Although, my sister will need someone to watch her two if they go out so where ever John and Autumn go I'm sure my daughter can go too!

Not much at all.  Until I found this site a week or so ago, I didn't even realize how much I have to plan!  So far, all I have done is sent out save the dates and invites.  I picked out both my dress and my bridesmaids.  I just started looking through here for ideas of decorations, flowers and private event locations.  Now I am thinking I should increase my budget!

How about you?  How is your planning coming along?

I do know that the cut off age for kids is 11 or 12 yrs old. You should call the 800 number for Moon Palace for further details. Or you can check out their website at Palaceresorts.com They have a break down of all the amenities.

I would totally fight this. Honestly. if they told you something (and if you have it in email or writing even better), then you need to fight this. their word is pretty much contract. and they should honor the stipulations they put forth the first time. I was able to reserve my room block for free and a week or so ago, I was told that it was "too much" and I had to pay 20% for EVERY SIGNLE ONE OF THE 40 ROOMS I RESERVED IN A ROOM BLOCK in order to keep the room block. I had a fit, drafted the most professional letter I could...and they are not going to make me do it. Hello- the idea of a room block is a BLOCK. not a RESERVATION. ridiculous

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Angela

I completely agree.  I booked back in March.  In order to block the rooms I had to pay some percentage of my stay only.  I'm not sure if that was my TA's rule or MP's.  I think it may have been 2 or 3 nights I paid for to hold the block.  Something definitely seems off about them changing the conditions.  I would definitely aruge the point.  Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
