I agree with everyone else, too. You're the host for the wedding and it's up to you to absorb this cost. I know it adds up, and that it sucks, but it would be rude to pass it off to your guests. Sorry about this extra expense- it seems like there are always things like this that pop up to ruin your budget, doesn't it?

I have to chime in and agree with the other ladies! IMO, it would be pretty tacky to ask them to pay this fee. In the grand scheme of things, I think it's not that much to have to add to your wedding budget (though believe me, I do know how all these "little" things can add up!) and if it is a big deal there's surely something that can be cut back on a little to help make up for this cost.

While I understand your concern because it is another unexpected cost to your wedding -- I agree that you should not ask them to pay. It is one of those things that goes with just the cost of the wedding -- you wouldn't have a wedding here, and ask your guests to pay for the price of an extra bar tender at the reception. Or have everyone pitch in to pay for the favors. It just goes with the cost of the wedding, and they paid to be there - so you will have to cover the cost to get them to the actual wedding.

I agree... I understand not wanting to spend anything additional, but they are paying a lot of money and it could be a huge inconvenience to them and not that big of an expense for you if you put it in perspective. I would try to cut somewhere else if I were you.

I have to agree with everyone else, thats something you need to cover. If you are worried about the price, is it possible to rent a larger vehicle to accomodate more ppl at a lower price? I know its not exactly as easy as renting a bus in the states but its something you might want to look into if you want to cut costs... Also, you only list this price as hotel to marina, you might want to check that the cost is for round trip not just one way! Either way its something that you need to pay for but it might be helpful to look for other means of transportation..

I seem to disagree with everyone. These days there are no rules if you ask me. I am sure they will understand, maybe ask them to pay for half. Whatever you decide just let them know beforehand and it shouldn't matter.
If there was a fee to park at a traditional wedding you could either pay it or not pay it so whats the difference.
I mean, if you can swing it I would try for that but if now just let them know ahead of time!

I would definitely NOT ask them to pay for that. I think it would be rude, even if it is just $12. Since you decided to travel from the hotel to the beach for the ceremony, it needs to come out of your pocket.

I agree with most of the others here. We found out today that our pp transportation costs will be $40, which is quite a bit more than $12, and yet we will have to pay it in our minds. We want our guests to feel completely pampered on our wedding day since they are traveling so far to join us.
                  22 booked!

I would definitely pay the $360, no question.
