Sorry, don't mean to hijack, but...
my TA told me that the 6th room free promo was not good for weddings!!! Was she wrong? Dreams gave her/us every 12th person free.

it depends on what promos were running at the time contracts were requested...i have a 6th room free with a wedding but things may be different for canadian wholesalers...not sure.

I am booking Dreams Los Cabos for my October wedding using a Canadian tour operator and we also have the sixth room free (based on five rooms double occupancy).

For you ladies that got this sixth room free, were kids free for your group? We did get kids free and so my TA is saying that this helps to make up for the fact that we are getting less people/rooms free... unless of course you all are getting both these perks!!! I think we have something like 18 rooms booked so far, so these details make a big difference to us.

It's so tough cause I know that these contracts fluctuate and that you can't always compare your contract to everyone else's... but I truly am a frugal princess and want it all for less!

You should be getting kids for free no matter what. I would talk to your travel agent. Have you talked to you agent about getting the 6th room for free? I would if I were you.

Wow we booked with a TA and didnt get anything at all for free. No upgrades and I had to pay for my kids. We have 9 rooms booked at the resort. Bummer. Wish someone had pointed in the direction of something like this back when we were booking.

I'm so grateful for this thread, and thanks so much ladies (Tammy, Megan, rdsjcr, etc.) for info on that 6th room free promo! I bugged my TA and she was able to get the resort manager to apply the new promo to our exisiting and future bookings - yippee!!!

P.S. Megan, you asked earlier whether it was usual to have to pay for all the rooms up front and then get credited back for your free rooms at the end - this is also what I have been told by my TA. I've also been told that the amount you get discounted back might be slightly less than you think because it is based on their wholesale room rates and not necessarily the rate you and your guests are paying (?).

    • The cooking method can double the calorie content of a meal, so learn about healthy cooking without having to add extra fats, like using a steamer,  a rotisserie , a slow cooker , a pressure cooker, a grill. Once you cook your own meals, you can control the calorie content because your control the cooking method and all the ingredients. A lot of people are overweight because they keep eating food that they did not cook.
    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
    • My sister has done it but with the destination wedding, only super close family members and friends came since it was expensive and farther. It was great though.
