Don't know who you're going to book with but we booked with WestJet Vacations - I was the point person for the group - and it saved us quite a bit. Mind you were going in June too. But I have three people leaving from Thunder Bay and they are flying into toronto like the rest of us and then we are all taking the same flight into punta cana.

Cost for their trip tax in was $1375. We're going from May 29th to June 5th.

Hope that helps.
Thanks for letting me know! I've contacted Westjet vacations and fingers crossed, I find something as great as you did.

and thank you to 'khomac' I've emailed the hotel about a Tuesday or Wednesday ceremony. good idea.

2 - Yes you can have traditional vows. You can either write them on paper and read it yourself, or you can get the co-ordinator to read it for you. (Maritee did for me anyway).
3 - You can rent any area and not get the open bar. Keep in mind, that you only get the section for 2 hours though (8-10)
4 - don't know
5 - you can do the cake whenever you want. Just let them know.
6 - The resort does not translate your documents. Which documents are you talking about? You need to have any documentation prepared before you get to the resort.

Hope this helps?!

congrats!
khomac, thanks for all of the great information and advice. It's so nice to see brides like yourself coming back and helping out newer brides plan their weddings. I've bookmarked several of your posts and links. Many thanks!

Mandy- Hi! Welcome to the forum.

I think I can also add some info to what khomac said...

#1.) I think its whatever music you would like. I have heard some people, sch as khomac, bring their own cdâ€s to play…or bring an ipod, and ask them for speakers, etc. Also, they do have a band, a trio actually that can play whatever song you like, be it the traditional wedding songs or something else, but I believe its 300 for the trio.

#2.) Khomac answered this perfectly.

#3.) I have heard a lot of people say the parrot bar is walking distance for drinks….I would ask the coordinator what bar is closer, perhaps that way you can maybe make a small announcement during dinner as to where to get drinks?

#4.) Not sure…

#5.) I think cake cutting is whenever you prefer.

#6.) I believe you need to translate your documents at the Dominican consulate if I am not mistaken…

Reading a review on the Facebook group, it says that the terrace is no longer available? The terrace is the outside of the steakhouse so the bar is about 20 feet away.

Remember, if you're not doing open bar, you only get the reception area for 2 hours. (if you can't get the terrace), I say get your guests to grab some drinks on your way to the reception and they'll be fine. You won't have to do many "drink runs" I'm sure if it's only 2 hours.

So I had emailed Claudia and asked her for the set menu so that I could print some up for our guests and she sent me this attachment. I was wondering for ladies that have already been there if that is the menu I should be using? I thought it was a set surf & turf entree?? The one she sent looks like the regular menu...

I'm confused!!

Thanks,

Nicole

Ya, you're right. That is the regular steakhouse menu.

Weddings are a set menu
Surf & Turf (Tenderloin & Grouper) with potato, veggies, etc

I'm guessing the potato was in the tinfoil? Not too sure as I was sick during dinner and in my room

If you don't want Surf & Turf you can have ONLY Chateaubriand (not Chateau and Grouper)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
