Nicyx- you are so cute!! so we are almost the same height. Yeah but people tell me and complain I think its kind of rude don't you think? At least they could of said it in a better way. But I also told our travel agent that I think I will need backup hotels in case people can't stay at the dreams. I mean really we are letting people know in advanced. I understand with the prices. But it's all=inclu. it includes everything. It's expected. O well I agree with you its our wedding and we've went through a lot to find the resort we wanted to. I just feel like people make us feel gulity like we should selected a different resort to make them happy. I think sometimes people forget why they are going? I understand its a lot of money and plus they want to be on a vacation. So really haha I don't care who shows us. I marrying my fiance not them. Cute! do have your sandals yet?

Linhy,

I know what u mean by the price and the other considerations, that is why I think I will go with Royal PDC, adult only resort with a sister hotel, GRAN PORTO REAL next door for "budget constrainted" guests and guests with kids/monsters. They can come over on my wedding day, and I can cross to their side when I wanna see them. I don't have to pay extra or day pass for them!

I am 5ft2, and 87 lbs, my FI is 6ft3...so I don't think a high heel will make any difference. I usually wear the Cole Haan Air heels, and even with the air cushion, I get a bit tired after 2-3 hours, so I will wear sandals.

I think I will think about the welcome letters..and gift bags once I get put down a deposit to secure the date and the location! heehee...

I was going to do OOT bags but like you say only one per room instead of per person! We will hopefully fly on sunday and then have some fly in on the thursday. Most family will come at the same time as us so dont know how to go about giving them theres? Any suggestions? Maybe have them put in their rooms on the second day...... I dunno!

I have my AHR date on hold (18th June 2011) we are going on saturday to check everything and put our deposit down! Yippee!! How funny we are booking that before we can actually book Mexico but hay hoe it'll all get done in the end :o)
I'm just having our hotel put them into each guests room on the day that they check-in. You should ask Barcelo if they'll do that as well, then you don't have to worry about it:) They aren't charging us anything to do it!

Have you figured out if you can do your wedding on a Saturday??

Linhy - When I was looking at Dreams Riviera Cancun, the price that they gave my TA was $159 per person per night for May 2011. And that was BEFORE negotiations. We never negotiated with them because we decided against the resort, but the price should go lower than that. Also, that price was tax-inclusive. If they are now telling you $200 per person per night, I would start negotiating with them and get it down much lower!!

Linhy - I know it's hard but try not to let it get to you to much. Like you say it's your wedding and they have been invited as your guests and should respect where you have chosen. If they can't afford to come then fine you understand that but DON'T feel guilty about it. It's your dream wedding and nobody should question your decisions! I'm sure like Nicy says it'll all work out in the end. Just try not let it get to you too much. Concentrate on the good things and YOUR dream wedding. There will be cheaper alternatives and everyone that goes will be happy in the end :o)

Nicy - can't wait to see your sandals....

The reason we are booking our AHR now is because we have found the dates we want in June 2011 (especially saturdays) are going fast over here so dont want to miss out on the date..... (and of cause we are very eager to book it all lol)

Mexbride83 - I haven't heard back from my email yet regarding the saturday. But a girl on the Barcelo thread on here posted a link to their wedding website and it only says no legal ceremonys on a sunday and mexican holidays on there. No mention of saturdays. Sooo we are hoping the saturday will be fine. I'm not going to stress to much now. I'll wait till we've booked (hopefully next month) and then see what happens when we confirm everything...... How are your plans going? Good idea about the OOT bags, it's just getting around the ones that arrive the same time as us and book in with us........

Thanks gals you guys are the best!!! It's great to talk to people that are going through similar stress!

Wow $159 per person per night. That's so much better then $200. I wonder if its because I am having it in January? I know it get cheaper after April. Hmmmm... I know January and February are high seasons for mexico. Thanks! I'll find out today before booking it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
