Sorry to hear about this. I know it would be really hard to change your wedding date, but could your TA call the resort and see if another date is available for your wedding (just in case there is not another flight)? Hope the TA finds another carrier who will work for you!

Oh , she can, I'm not really interested in the packages, but I was wondering how come everyone's TA seems to be able to give different quotes/prices on different dates. I did call the TA after I wrote this and she said that if we had a group booking/block of rooms and teh price went down we could get the lower price but not if people book individually. Is that the same info you are getting? Thanks! :)

Yes, I know! I'm excited!! :) Still trying to finalize the dates, got a quote for Easter last night from both of my TAs (I'm cheating on one of them to get the best price haha!) and the rooms were much more expensive than the ones I had gotten earlier for early May, so now I'm not sure what to do. Tried to call Ana today but no one answered, will try again soon.

We have the group rates in place til end of August. If the price goes down, we are locked in with the original price. Different contract, I would guess. Every carrier likely has it's own promotions, etc. Hope you find a price that will work!

Another worry on my mind though is that the resort isn't blocking off rooms for us and we seem to have a lot of procrastinators in our group...but our agent still said that if the majority have their deposits down by October (the wedding is in May) that we are in good shape!?  All of you ladies seem to have so many booked already!

We are getting married at the end of January, so we are about 4 months ahead of you. Don't worry about numbers, when it starts to grow, it starts to grow. I was worried about it...and in the last week people have been booking (mind you our early bird group deadline is August 31).

Hey all,

Just getting back from vacation and trying to catch up.  Looks like there's lots of beautiful dresses and handbags being purchased.  elefant.gif  and much going on with booking prices etc.  I'll catch up in due course.

Another question...has anyone sent e-vite save the dates? or is that tacky?  Thoughts???

For what it's worth I did do email save the dates.  We were in a real time crunch to get them out because we had a great group rate that was only guaranteed for a very short time.  We wanted our immediate family etc. to be able to take advantage of that.  So it was more a time thing than a money thing.

Anyways, point being, I agree that evites can/are a bit tacky too.  I used a program called smilebox.  You can make a real personalized card (with your own photos etc.) and then you pay something like $4.00 to buy the card.  There's no ads attached or anything that way.

We then sent an individual e-card to each guest.  It took a long time, but it was worth it I think because it achieved both the speedy (cost-effective, environmentally sound) delivery and was also a bit more personalized.  We'll also be sending out regular invitations around October.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
