Gluten Free bride gets married in Cancun!

Hello everyone! I'm Jess and from Western Ma. My fiance and I are getting married at the Gran Caribe Real Resort in Cancun,Mexico on August 7, 2010! I am a gluten free bride and our destination wedding is proving to be tricky! However, thanks to boards like these I have learned a bunch of tricks!

We are currently looking to book a photographer and I'm wondering if most brides fly their photographers in? We have a GREAT photographer we are interested in, but unsure if we should just go with the on-site guy?

Any suggestions welcome... any other Gran Caribe brides out there? =)

OMG...I just posted a Celiac Bride thread!!!! How funny. I am looking for a wedding cake recipe written in spanish so I can give the WC. I sent her my list of restrictions..but I still feel nervous. I am also, researching for a photographer. Usually you would fly them down and pay for their services.

That is too funny! We ended up getting a cake topped with chocolate covered strawberries... that way they can put some aside (not touching the cake) and I can have those while the guests have the cake. I guess I was not confident in the cake tasting good so that was my solution! =)

I will have to look up your thread!

Congrats and welcome3.gif to the forum! I researched and hired a photographer from the area I was getting married in. I actually found them on here as they are members of the forum, but its definitely not uncommon to fly your own down. I guess it depends on your budget. Good luck and happy planning!

Welcome to the forum!

I too have a gluten allergy. How funny! I didn't really think much about it, I just avoided the foods that I couldn't eat. But, my allergy isn't that bad. My tummy just bloats out to about 5 month pregnant (not an exaggeration either, I have pictures of my tummy when I WAS pregnant to prove it!).

Anyway, welcome to the forum. I hope you are able to find a lot of helpful information.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
