We are getting married at the Ocean Coral & Turquesa (Riviera Maya) on 4/9/10 and are so excited! Our ceremony is at 2 pm and we are looking for ideas/suggestions of how to do a reception....do we do a simple cocktail hour afterwards or do we have a 2-3 hour break and then do a dinner. Does anyone have ideas or suggestions?

I would go for the cocktail hour, don't forget the photo session will take some time up and after the cocktails there will prob be time to freshen up before the meal, it will soon past.

i had this same issue when I got married. What I did, was my ceremony was at 3pm, then I gave my guests an hour to go back to their rooms and refresh. Then I had a cocktail hour from 5-7 (yes, cocktail hour was two hours... I'm weird). I hired a mariachi band for an hour of that time and we had a private little area. It was great. Then at 7 everyone headed to dinner.
As for us and the bridal party, we did photos until around 6ish and then joined the group.

Welcome to the forum. I agree go for the cocktails time, into dinner. After your photos and receiving line, it will go quickly. Happy Planning!
