Anyone addicted to spinning?!

I know, it's never fun standing behind the hairy old dudes in speedos! EW they usually fart a lot too, from my experience haha. Sorry if that's TMI :P

Just be careful in there, the heat makes you extra flexible and you're more prone to pulling/tearing muscles. Know your limits and don't push too hard until you've done it many times!

I just got back from my 2hr spin/bootcamp class, and it was a lot of fun! Burnt 650cals in an hour so I'm very impressed! They had it set up like a circuit, with 3 stations. 1 was spinning, 2 was upper body and 3 was core/lower/insane cardio. Spent about 15min at each.

That only took up the first hour though, and then they did a whole hour of yoga afterwards. I would have rather done the yoga first because it was flow yoga and you require a lot of strength, which my body wasn't interested in giving me!

950cals total in 2hrs, yay!

Hey I'm going to chime in because I am a fellow spin lover. I started a year and a half ago and finally invested in cycling shoes about 4 months ago and it made all the difference for me b/c I could focus on engaging my hams and quads better. I try to go at least 3 times a week in addition to my regular strength and yoga workouts. I tried it and was hooked! Now I recommend it to anyone looking for an intense, fun workout. I am fortunate to belong to a gym that offers about 25 classes a week so there is no excuse not to find one that works into my schedule.

Yea I'm pretty excited that my fav gym I teach aerobics at is now offering spinning classes. I used to travel all around to teach, and as much as I love teaching those classes it was taking a toll on me! Plus, this gym isn't charging any extra for these classes which is pretty rare these days. Can't wait to start with them next week! Nothing like brand new equipment... :)

I've been slacking on the gym the last few weeks, but am gearing up to get back into the swing of things this week. I first did a spin class about 7 years ago and I have to say that the first class is awful, I thought I was going to be sick and my butt hurt so bad.

But if you can get past that initial class it gets better after that, easier on the butt, and less sick feeling and it really is a fantastic workout.

I am hoping to work at least 2 spin classes a week into my routine

My advice for the first class is let the instructor know you are new so they can help you set up the bike correctly, take it easy on the resistance and don't let the butt pain discourage you. Once you've been to a few classes, you end up not even feeling the seat anymore. Oh, and my last piece of advice is have fun and pace yourself! You are only competing with you!

Oh its great to see fellow spinners and also fellow soon to be :).. FI got me a polar hrw for xmas im super excited to see in in spinning class action!

Rainfall- Dont ever think of it as embarrassing yourself. We were all new at one point in our spinning lives. Take it easy, talk to the instructor let them know your new and keep at it. Consistency is the key to success in any type of exercise. =)

Have fun ladies!

Yes Rainfall, these girls said it right. Don't even worry about anyone else in the class because everyone's always focused on themselves and won't worry about what you're doing. Go at your own pace, and definitely let your instructor know so you can make sure the bike is set up appropriately! A good instructor will make sure to prepare you cheesy.gif.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
