Ocean Blue & Sand-Punta Cana

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure about our nails, I will for sure have our hair done. As of right now I'm not sure of how many BM I will have. My date 10/11/12. I still have some time. But as soon as I do know I will schedule our hair apps. I think they have many weddings a day and the salon/spa books up quick.

Hi Ladies,

I am also booked at Ocean Blue, my wedding date is Feb 8, 2012.  I have been working with my travel agent who has provided me with all the material. It sounds like our ceremony is at 1pm.  Has anyone gotten married at this time, if so did many of the guests hit the beach and pool after and then get dressed again for the evening or did the party go from the ceremony right into the night. Just wondering how did the overall day go.. Were brining our ipod and djing our own music.  Any suggestions on where to host the dance/party – i donâ€t mind it public however i think ill have enough guests that we would fill a room nicely.

Truly im interested to know how the flow of the day went.. Does anyone have any input?

My other dilemma is La Brasa is booked – That sucks... I have 36 confirmed right now and expect at least 10 more ppl.  I donâ€t want dinner too formal but i suspect there would be a few speeches.  Because the restaurants are open to all is there enough privacy for the speeches or is it something you do once the dance starts? Im really just trying to get an idea of the flow of the day..

Thanks for all the great posts it has enabled me to ask the right questions when confirming details.

Hey Ladies!

I am not planning my wedding at Ocean Blue and Sands but I attended one there about 2 years ago!  It was lovely, and was really the motivation behind our choosing Punta cana for our wedding spot.  We chose Paradisus as some of the same people will be attending our wedding, and I felt it was important to try something new!

The wedding I attended was on the beach around 3pm and then followed by pictures and then a dinner reception at the beach restaurant (I forget the name at the moment). Dinner and service was good and it felt pretty private.  The beach ceremony was not so private and there were some onlookers, so be aware of this if privacy is important to you!

There wasn't any real plan after the dinner, we mostly all ended up going to party the night away at the front lobby bar, so it was no big deal that there wasnt a formal dance reception planned.  There were about 30 of us, so we just brought the party atmosphere with us whereever we ended up!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
