Feeling stuck or frustrate what resort to choose!?

Hello

My fiance and I are planning to get married in the Riviera Maya November 2010. We originally planned on going to the Bahia Principe. But upon discovering (thanks to this blog) that the resort no longer allows outside photographers, our plans are back to square one.

The date is staying the same. It's not really a date date yet as they have not been published. But since the discovery we have been researching resorts like mad trying to find one that will live up to Bahia.

The wedding is far away, but I'm feeling super frustrated! Anybody else out there need to vent?

Hi Kasia_09 ... while I don't know about the bahia principe specifically, there are a lot of resorts that have conditions on if and how they allow outside photographers into the resort for weddings. This is because they have an agreement with a union down there, which I don't entirely understand the details of myself. Often times if you have your own photographer coming with you that is a guest of the resort (and not a mexican citizen) then they would be allowed to do your photography. If you are looking at having a mexican photographer that the resort is not providing, sometimes you just have to get them a day pass or book them into the resort for one night.

Lots of us on the site have chosen our own photographers so there are definitely lots of resorts that have some allowance, so don't give up hope just yet!

Choosing the resort is a really hard decision and one that I changed my mind on quite a few times. In the end I chose the Paradisus. My sister was there in January and all the brides have had great things to say about it. I don't regret the decision at all. Good luck!

Hi and welcome to the BDWF! You have to come to the right place, you will find the right resort! No worries!

OUr DW is at Beaches and they do not allow outside photographers either but we have decided to hire a photographer off of proprty for before the ceremony, TTD, and BD pics and then BEACHES will be there for our ceremony! YOu have tons of options!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
