Las Caletas Couples ~ POST HERE!!! (**All LC Brides...PLEASE READ 1st post, red text)

It's never too early to look for a photographer! They book fast! I, personally, am flying one in from Dallas who I met on here. His name is Jared Rey and he posted in the vendors section as he is trying to get into destination weddings and had done one in Cabo that was gorgeous! The website for the "in-house" photographer is http://www.adventureweddingsphoto.com/ I think they are actually pretty good and have good pricing, and I just noticed that they offer trash the dress sessions, which I did not see they did before. Eva Sica from photoshoots vallarta is supposed to be good and had good prices. http://www.photoshootsvallarta.com/ or http://www.tande.mx/ Nate Broshot has done a lot of weddings there too and has awesome photos. I have also hear of Paulina Ulloa, Jillian Mitchell, and Michelle Turner.

As for the number of guests, I am getting worried too....people are replying yes and our guest list is growing and I think we will have at least 60 at this point.....but who knows, a lot of people haven't officially booked yet but are planning to this month. I asked Kelley about the max number of people at a table, and she said 8-10. I think ChicagoPT posted some table set up charts of her wedding.

SheriB, how exciting for you to finally start the planning stages with Kelley. I have been gathering a lot of pictures and information to get ready for the time when Kelley finally contacts me for planning.

Hi Las Caletas brides!!  I am Jen from California and my wedding is all set for May 1, 2011.  You have all been so helpful and give amazing advice.  I think most of my questions are answered at this moment, but I am still deciding on the photographer.  Does anyone know a lot about the photographer they provide?  Do they have two people to shoot both me early and my wedding party coming over on the boat?  Why did you ladies decide to go with someone else?

Also, what is included for the tables?  White tablecloths?  Are the runners extra?  Thanks for your help!!

 Hi Jen_Matt,

I am getting married the day before you!  101 days for me, 102 for you!  I am flying in my photographer Cassandra McDaniel  from Savannah, because she is a dear friend and does amazing work, and I couldn't imagine getting married without her shooting it.  Beth Lloyd and Nathanial Thompson have both shot a lot at Caletas and their pictures are gorgeous. I think with both of them you have the option of hiring a second shooter so there is one with you and one with the guests.  Happy planning!

I am using Nate Broshot www.licensetostill.com.  He has worked at Las Caletas several times before.  He is bringing a second for the wedding day as well.  The total package for us will be around $3500 including two photographers for 7 hrs on the wedding day, the TTD, 2 hrs rehearsal dinner, his flights, a per diem and hotel.  He comes from Seattle but used to live in PV.  I have seen some of his LC work and love it and he was a lot more affordable than many of the others I contacted.

Happy planning!

Hello Ladies, I am new on here and learning so much already. I have booked LC for January 25, 2012. I went to LC for a day trip back in 2009 and fell in love with it!!! I am sooo excited already and it is still a year away. I have some questions for past brides or current, about hair and make up. Who did you book and how did it work, did you have to arrange for them to get over to LC or did Kelley do that for you??? I know it's not for awhile, but I'm already stressing about that. :S I'm a crazy planner and want everything in place and booked as early as I can because if I don't I end up waiting until the last minute!!! I am open to any useful information and others experiences!!! Thanks Ladies!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
