How did you request this and who emailed you?  Is the rest of your wedding party & guests confirmed for that building too?  Our TA had said she would email the resort a list of all of the people going so as we could be grouped together...

We too are confirmed in building 23. I got confirmation of this today. Was it super nice?? I've stayed at the Bahia before and did find the rooms were getting a little tired, so I specifically requested the new section.

I can't wait.. I"'m SOOOO Excited!!

I'm curious why, when your weddings aren't until next January that you have to have bookings by next week?  Gosh - ours is in November and our cutoff for the group rate date is July 6th.

And I will definately be creeping on your wedding!! Then you can creep on mine a few days later ha!

picking up my dress tonight.  can't wait even if it did come in 4 months early!!!  my step-daughter to be is doing our invitations - watermelon and guava same as our dress colours and she got the paper for them today!!  the colour combination is called "tropical punch" but without the rum... so I get to see that on Sunday!  even though the calendar says still 7 months to go it actually feels like things are getting done!

I'm actually a TA myself so I do know a lot of people who work in this business and just so happen to know the staff of Bahia. Perks of the career, and i'll be honest and say there are deffo not as many perks of this job than there used to be!!

Yeah, building 23 was really nice!  I wasn't in any other rooms outside building 23 so I have nothing to compare to, but no one in our group had any complaints.  And it's nice being on that side cause the pool and pool bar are way more quiet.

We got upgraded for free, so we were on the 6th floor - the view was beautiful - pool, ocean and wedding gazebo!  Our travel agent made sure we were all booked in the same building.  There were a few that were put on the non-view side.  The rooms were smaller too, but they got hot tubs on their balconcies as consolation...

Best of luck with everything - you're going to love it!!!!!

That is so smart! I would never have even thought to ask them to cut off our wrist bands for the big day!

That's what I love about this forum! All of you smart ladies are just full of great thoughts and ideas! Love it! Thanks a ton!!!

What did they do about yours and your wedding party's wristbands?? Did they cut them off you for the wedding day? I don't wanna have horrible tan lines from that wrist band and 100% don't want them in the photos!! hahaa I just thought of this now!!

Toesinsand:  I'm so glad that you received them and that they're perfect! It makes all of my phone calls and emails to the company worthwhile!  I agree that I think the organza will be a lot lighter and prettier! Can't wait to see mine now! Thanks for letting me know!!!

Oh and keep us posted on the steel drums songs! I'm trying to pick my music, but eager to hear what they can actually play!

I also confirmed with Chandlyn that the minister fees are $200 plus 10% taxes :) and gave her a list of steel drum band songs and she is going to see if they can play them, once i hear back I will let everyone know :)  As well my wedding is the only one that is going on that day, so far so good :) but we still have 5 1/2 months to go.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
