In my opinion, Merrick is a WONDERFUL person to work with! Such a sweet and kind person, very professional and I loved my pictures and have gotten MANY comments on how awesome they look so I highly recommend him!

Between my wedding day and the trash the dress he took almost 1700 pictures!!! And his prices are amazing, compared to many other photographers!!

I have about 500 of my pictures posted on Facebook so for anyone who wants a sneak peek of my pictures, feel free to add me.... Sarah Connors Espejo

Otherwise, here's a slide show sneak peek that Merrick made for us.

just as an FYI... I did bring my bouquet home from jamaica and the groom's bout. got them through customs no problem. my understanding is that cut flowers are different from plants where soil is attached. the only tip would be make sure they are well soaked in paper towel around the bottom. mine had started to dry out by the time I actually got them home, but they did survive the trip, and quite well I might add!

So, our date is booked and confirmed with the resort, met with our TA today who is going to get me pricing as soon as it's available, and our STDs will go out after the holidays.  Think I may be a bit ahead of the game because I've already designed all my STD's and invites, have a pretty good idea of what I'm getting for OOT bags/favours and bringing for decorations.  I think I'm gonna pass on spending a chunk of money on flowers that you can't bring home or fake ones that no one really keeps and just use fans or parasols for my BM, and I'm going to attempt making shell bouts for the guys; trying to channel my inner DIY creativity...lol :)  Oh, and I got my DRESS...I know it's really early but I could not wait to go shopping for it (I've been waiting 6 yrs for this to come), and I just knew when I put it on, I love it!!  So excited woot.gif

Hope everyone has a upcoming great holiday and happy planning!!!

Hi ladies!

Just thought I'd poke my head in to say congrats to those of you who have been recently married and best of luck to Jan 2012 brides!

Here's a link to our photos by the fabulous Merrick. I cannot  begin to convey in words just how fantastic he was- personable and professional. He managed to calm our nerves- my veil was stolen the night before the wedding and returned 20mins before I walked down the aisle! I was an absolute state as was poor hubby! Merrick's photos captured the nerves, excitement, relief and the fantastic party vibe our guests brought to an amazing day.

Give me a shout if you have any questions about Merrick or the resort. I'll do my best to help in any way I can.

Congrats to all the new brides and wives! Just thought Id let everyone know I ordered my Vistaprint STDs and they came in less then a week, and look AMAZING! Can't wait to send them out.

I had a question about the Salon at GBP, whether or not I should get my hair done the day of the wedding there....or should I just try and learn myself? Last I heard it wasn't a good experience and the hairdresser did not listen to anything the bride had to say. Any input....??

I can learn myself, but it won't be as good as a hairdresser. Same goes with make-up, any suggestions/input?

Thanks!

I don't know about the salon but I booked Rashel Edwards for my makeup and her assistant for my hair. They come to your hotel room and their reviews are awesome and their work is amazing!!! If you search her on here I think there is a thread, she also has lots of pictures on facebook too!

Here is what they sent me for prices. I quite enjoyed getting my hair and make up done there. I also had a pedicure done a couple of days before when they did my trial hairstyle.  You don't pay when you go. They charge it to your room and you pay when you're leaving, and it's in Jamaican dollars, not US so the rate can alter slightly depending on the exchange. I ended up disputing the rate they were charging me but it was because the exchange rate had changed. I ended up paying what I was told I would.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
