Beaches Negril Room Categories?

Recommended Posts

I was just reading another thread where a Sandals bride was asking about a particular room category, so I thought I'd ask about the Beaches Negril rooms. We are booked in the Honeymoon Grande Luxe Beachfront Concierge Room category (could the name be any longer? lol). And the description states these rooms are in the Santa Cruz, Savannah and Montpelier buildings. Does anyone have any feedback on this room category or the buildings themselves? Would you recommend one building over another?

And I probably need a TA to answer this question - but does my TA select or request the actual room #? Can they only request a particular building? Or do they only get to request the category we selected and the rest is up to the resort at check in?

I hope that this doesn't get taking the wrong way! Since I responded to the one thread regarding rooms at Sandals I have received oodles (literally over 20 ) requests for room information and pics for both Sandals & Beaches from brides that have booked either direct with the resorts or with other TA's.

You guys know I love you and will answer general questions if I have a spare few minutes -but this is really part of the in-depth service that I provide to my clients and that you should be getting from either Sandals/Beaches if you booked direct, or your TA.

I know many of you booked prior to finding the forum and I feel really bad, but it wouldn't be fair to my clients to take the time & provide this information to everyone. These clients retained me because I took the time & expense to visit these resorts and have the knowledge and expertise to answer or can get the answers because of my relationship with Sandals, Beaches and Royal Plantation.

Additionally, the time it would take to answer all of the requests I received would be time taken away from my brides- that’s not fair to them.

So I decided that the only way to handle this is that I can longer answer the specific room category and placement questions for those who are already using a TA. If you have booked direct and wish to have me be your travel agent I can, of course, then assist.

Again I hope that no one takes this wrong or gets upset!

I have been reading some reviews on Beaches Negril on TripAdvisor, and it has been mentioned a few times that the Santa Cruz block is the most quiet area (near the watersports area), and Montpelier is more centrally located but noisier - so it would be your preference whether you wanted to be closer to the action or near peace and quiet. I haven't seen anything about how the rooms are different other than levels of noise and location.

I think you can ask your TA to request the room block, and then you would request it again at check-in. I don't think it can be guaranteed, but I could be wrong.

We are staying at Beaches and our group is staying in the Honeymoon Deluxe Rooms (which are the least expensive).

Our TA has said that the rooms at Beaches are 7/10 overall and some of the nicest she has seen in Jamaica. She also said the 2 dbl room is quite a bit bigger than the king.

Hmm, what else do I know... there is a description of each room that can be found on the Beaches website.... and the doors have enough height under them for a note to be slipped (that was my Q to our TA before she visited.

Hope that is somewhat helpful.

Alison

Yep, I've seen the pics on the web site and I have a bunch of Beaches brochures as well - but thank you! I was more curious about if it makes a difference which building your in. For example, the Grande Lux category is available in 3 different buildings - Santa Cruz, Savannah and Montpelier...so was just wondering if anyone had opinions on one building over another.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
