Unofficial Bridal Party (suggestions needed)

    Me and FI have had issues about the bridal party and so the last agreement was to just have my sister as the MOH and that's it. I kind of don't like that idea because I was going to have her walk down the aisle then fix my dress then she can sit with the guest but now I want to do a more like unofficial bridal party but need suggestions. For now I know I will have 2 people do toast and maybe 2 readings. We can provide a MC or hire one at our resort, I was thinking they could do the MC duties but how do I break it down for them? We will have between 8-10 people and they can pick their own attire I just want them to use one of our colors. Do we call them unofficial and word that on our programs and how do we ask them? I need some suggestions on this one please, what other things can they do?

      Some people might take it the wrong way if you call them "unofficial". Perhaps you could call them the "honorary" bridal party instead?

      Like you mentioned, people can do readings, toasts, and MC. You could also have someone hold your rings. If you are doing a guestbook, someone can stand by the guestbook and ask people to sign. Someone else can hand out programs. Someone could act as your bridal attendant. That's all the duties I can think of for now...if I think of any more I will post!

        I Like Ginalyn's idea!!!! I am doing simular, we're not having a wedding party. FI and I are walking down the aisle together and will stop before entering the Gazebo to pick up our children. We have one each, my son and his daughter, my son is one witiness because he is old enough, FI's daugther isn't. FI's mother will bring the ring to us and stand with the kids when it's time for the rings, she is FI's witness. I have several gfriends and FI's neice assigned duties to include them.
        We're doing the "whiteboard guestbook" (thread on BDW) and one gfriend will take pics and make sure all guests are included.
        Another gfriend is doing a reading
        FI's neice will drop rose petals when the music begins (something she begged me to do because she thinks its romantic, i could care less)
        My BIL to be will be in charge of the ipod and music. No one is being noted on the program it is so informal and we figured everyone know each other. Sue 2cents over morning coffee... Good luck in your planning, don't sweat the small details girl.

          My FI and I both decided on having only one person stand up with us . . . which cause some hurt feeling initially with one of my GF but her reaction also justified my choice. I still would like her to have a special roll . . . . I'm thinking my honorary wedding co-ordinator (I was a stand in when her original co-ordinator had a family emergency) . . . she's a real make the trains run on time chic. I should be low stress since it;s destination, but would still put my mind at ease to have someone checking on details so I don't have too!
