We received the contract, but it had tons of errors in it. Things Luis told us were included appeared with a charge. We had to go through it line by line and make corrections which our travel agent presented to him today. We will see how it goes.

How many guests are attending your wedding? I was wondering what kind of rates he quoted to you in person. With the resort not having a set of wedding packages it is difficult to determine what we should or shouldn't be getting.

We got everything on Thursday and Friday. There were a good bit of errors, but Luis was VERY quick to update the documents several times and send them right back.

The quotes price wise were pretty good as compared to my last resort. We didn't find any surprises. Our DJ equipment is $700, but we have a lot of equipment, our DJ spins at a bar at the W Hotel in Atlanta so he is fairly high tech.

Let me know what you guys need to know. We have 24 guests coming.

  • 1 month later...

I just came across this forum and decided to put in my two cents. My husband and I got married here on November 12, 2009 and had the wedding of our dreams! Of course, the road to the perfect wedding was pretty bumpy because the wedding coordinator we were originally working with stopped working there about four months before the wedding. In the end everything came together and was beautiful. I will post more later tonight including some pictures if anyone is interesed.

Hi ladies,

I am really interested in any information you all can provide about weddings at HTR. When I was looking at resorts a few months ago, I really loved this one but thought that it might be too expensive...it was hard to figure out the costs since there weren't any set packages and the documents that Luis sent me were rather confusing!

Anyway...I ended up putting a deposit down at the Royal in PDC which is a great resort but their wedding department has been pretty shady with price and policy changes without notice or explanation. FI and I are just not getting a good feeling about having our wedding with them anymore.

Long story short, I found this thread and between what I've read here and Ash's great pictures...I am very seriously considering switching to HTR if we can make it work.

I emailed Luis again but haven't heard back so any insight you ladies can provide about how your events were set up etc would be GREAT.

Sorry for the essay here but I'm sure you all can relate to how crazy planning a DW can feel!!!

-Becky

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
