They are personal friends of ours. My FI works with the videographer (they are in advertising) and the photographer is an associate of the videographer. Our DJ is an old friend of my FI's. We lucked out having connections....this has saved us some money. We are simply renting the DJ equipment from a vendor while we are there.

Have you figured out the details for your cermony/cocktail/reception sites? Becks: We are doing our site visit Jan 17-19. We may have 50-60 guests. Just sent out invites and people are starting to book through our travel agent, so we will see how many we end up with. We will work out the details of our ceremony, cocktail, and reception sites when we visit. I will let you know how it goes.

I don't know if you have heard back yet, but we were told they only do one wedding per day. Maybe since you are eloping without a large party of guests, they would accomodate your request. I hope you get good news.

Sounds awesome! We are doing our site visit in January, and we have learned to talk to Luis over the phone. I am so excited you had a great experience. Can't wait for our big day! Thanks for the info!

I would love to see your pictures. Please post them sometime. My fiance and I are getting married at HTR 6/26/2010. I love hearing that people are having great experiences.

How was your experience overall? Any warnings for the rest of us?

We received the contract, but it had tons of errors in it. Things Luis told us were included appeared with a charge. We had to go through it line by line and make corrections which our travel agent presented to him today. We will see how it goes. How many guests are attending your wedding? I was wondering what kind of rates he quoted to you in person. With the resort not having a set of wedding packages it is difficult to determine what we should or shouldn't be getting.

The cost for DJ equipment wasn't included in our contract, but I believe Luis originally quoted us $800 for the evening. Hope this helps and hope you get your contract soon. I would be going crazy at this point.

Luis also sent us the video. It is very beautiful. That wedding also cost $25000. Not quite the budget we are working with. We did get our contract but it is full of errors. We are currently going through and making corrections. As for vendors we are bringing our own photographer, videographer, and DJ.

That is funny. My fiance called Luiz yesterday too. He was very apologetic with him as well. He said he would send the contract to our travel agent last night, and we still have not received it. I agree with you, and I hope he becomes more attentive prior to the wedding. Keep me updated as your planning progresses. Thanks!

My fiance and I have also tentatively scheduled our wedding at Hacienda Tres Rios. However, we are having difficulty working with Luiz. He seems overwhelmed. We booked our wedding a month ago and still have no contract in hand. It has become frustrating for our wedding planner/travel agent as well. How have your dealings with Luiz been? I will be interested to hear how your wedding goes in November.
