Wedding Dress - It was My LUCKY DAY!!! ** :D

I have a GREAT success story to share with you ladies, in the hopes that maybe you will get lucky too!!

 

I was planning on going on THE WEDDING DRESS hunt this weekend; I had been to a few places and fell in love with a few dresses that were a bit out of my price range. I also felt really uncomfortable trying on the dresses and felt quite FAT to tell you the truth....

 

I was also going to take the Ivory Bridesmaid dress approach as I REALLY wanted an inexpensive wedding dress. It was not the biggest issue for me and I am still not sure exactly how many people would be coming to the wedding; so I couldn't justify spending a LOT on a dress.

 

My future sister-in-law and I had a game plan; start out in the East end and work our way West checking out all the bridesmaid styles possible when I stumbled upon this website:

It didn't give much information on the STYLES of dresses that they offered but I was up to giving it a try, so we went there FIRST to see what they had.

 

At first we were about to walk out the door, a LOT of the dresses were really out dated and looked like they were from the 80's but I sucked it up and tried on a few dresses. When I had tried on ALL the ones that we picked out, I was about to change back into my clothes when one of the girls that worked there and whom we had told it was for a destination wedding suggested that I try on a raw silk style that was in the size up. I said what the hell and she brought it in……..

 

OMG – I fell in love. It was only slightly too big and the raw silk made it feel feather light. It looked lovely and although it was in a different style than I had anticipated buying I was in LOVE, it was absolutely comfortable and lightweight, although it had a train.

 

My sister-in-law made me keep my head and not buy the dress on the spot, so we went to Windsor Bridal to check out some more styles. Don’t get me wrong I did see ones that I liked there too but this dress had enchanted me and I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

 

So we went back, I bought the dress for $299. I have to get it altered by a third party but I am not too concerned about that and it gives me time to try to lose a bit of weight!!! When I had tried it on I noticed the name brand and it had registered in my brain but not entirely, the sales lady told me that it was a VERY EXPENSIVE BRAND – Pronovias!!!! When I got home I looked it up and I was able to find the style…it was from a few years back but the style is pretty timeless so I don’t really care!! I thought I would share this with you in hopes that someone else gets lucky too!!!

I went to Orfus Rd as well, but didn't try this store. When I went to Windsor bridal I was shocked at the price of the dresses... This was particularly because I had found 'the one' in another store and couldn't get it out of my mind!

Hooray! I just recently found my dress, too, after going to a lot of stores so I can totally understand how happy you must be right now! Good for you to keep an open mind and stick it out. It's a hard thing to do!
