Most Economical Wedding in Punta Cana?

Recommended Posts

Hi Girls!!

I am starting to plan my wedding in PC...and i need some help. I'm not being CHEAP blush2.gifor anything, but i am NOT having any help paying for my wedding (by our parents)...other than my fiance and i...we are 22 and 24...and we would like to have a very nice, simple...wedding. Where do you think i can get a good price, for a decent wedding...with private reception, preferably open bar...and nice accomodations?? I'm sure you are all thinking that i'm being cheap...but i don't want to spend too much money on a wedding, when we would like to buy a house soon also.

I would like to start seeing PRICES...as suppose to just PACKAGES...because i'm starting to notice the packages dont have EVERYTHING...and i will be paying out of pocket for everything else.

What did your wedding cost, in total...for your stay...and the wedding...photography...huh.gifsmile35.gif

thanks so much for all your help!!!smile36.gif

Hi!

Check out this thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t933 . Here you will see how much people spent on their entire wedding.

Your question is difficult as everyone has a very different definition of 'cheap.' Like you, my dream wedding is the cheap one where I still have money left over to start a comfortable life. My fiance and I are also footing the entire bill.

Your best bet might be to find a resort with a free package and add on stuff as needed -- that consistently seemed to be the cheapest way to go. The RIU resorts have free packages and have semi-private receptions included with them that may suit your needs. There are a few RIUs in the DR and a couple of the resorts are relatively inexpensive (I am thinking of RIU Tiano and RIU Nabioa). The only catch is 80% of your wedding party must stay there and you must have a minimum amount of rooms booked before the wedding is free AND there is a per-person charge after 10 guests. Dreams resorts also have free packages and the cost seems to be directly proportional to the number of guests and not as reliant on people being there. There are extra charges for private receptions and semiprivate receptions, while free, are not guaranteed. Oh, and almost anywhere in DR, you will have to pay $300 for the legal fees regardless of whether the wedding is 'free'.

BUT that is just 2 of MANY resorts to choose and it really depends on what you're comfortable with. You just gotta do the research and price out what you want.

Hi soontobmrsc, I can empathize. My FI and I are footing everything ourselves as well; which is why in the end we ultimately decided to go off and elope and have a celebration with everyone when we get back. It was the best way for us.

Like SSNM suggested, there are plenty of resorts willing to offer up free packages dependent on how many guests you will have. Have you considered just having an intimate destination wedding with your closest friends and family...that will cut down costs tremendously. The good thing about having a DW is that we get wedding planners for free in a sense and they plan mostly everything with us not having to be there. So it comes out fairly inexpensive considering. Alot of brides have gone the Dreams Resorts route and from what I've heard they are fairly reasonable in pricing. Check them out!

Best of luck to you in your wedding planning...

Check out the Majestic Colonial Resort. We are paying $1250 for a symbolic ceremony (getting married legally in the US 1st bc it is cheaper) and get our ceremony, flowers for bride and groom, included dinner for all our guests, and it's an all inclusive resorts so there's plenty to drink and do. We then hired photography/video for $3000 total...but I splurged here...you could pay alot less. The resort has it's own photographers and you can spend what you wish. Goodluck researching!

yes, it alll depends on whats your budget and how many guests..also the hotel because some are more pricey than others, but also, u get what you pay for you know. in the end, marrying my hubby on the beach was my dream. my budget was 3k but with 50 guests in a nice hotel was not goign to happy...and that doesnt include my dress, invites...etc...so it all depends on what u want u know...good luck

My friend paid $1750 for the wedding package at the Majestic Colonial, plus $800 for the resort photographer, $65 for her hair, and $135 for two flower bouquets (bride & grooms flowers are not included in the package). Plus her costs of travel

This did not include a private reception. We had a semi private dinner at the steakhouse (didn't even notice anyone else around), and then we went over to the Garden Bar to dance to the jazz music until 11. At 11pm we headed over to the disco.

Her's was a small wedding with 12 people.

I am having 80 people at the Grand Palladium Bavaro.

Ceremony $650 to renew vows which I think is a better option, otherwise $1300

This includes dinner for any number of guests that you have!

HDC Photo package $1900 - this is for 5 hour photographer, 6 hour videographer and TTD session. They have less expensive options and offer a discount if you book photo/video together.

I am also privatizing the reception for $1000 because we have a larger group and it makes sense.

Good luck!

I got married at Ocean Blue and everything I needed was included in a week's stay. As long as you book a honeymoon suite or a deluxe room. Then it doesn't matter how many guests you have because it's free! The only extras I paid for were my flowers ($50) hair/makeup ($80). I brought my own photog, a friend, who took my pics for free.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
