TIA! I can't wait to hear everyone's responses :)

I'll go first...

For our table numbers, we are having pictures taken of us holding up signs with the numbers on them. Since, we are getting married in Mexico, the numbers will be in Spanish.(Uno, Dos, Tres, ect. )

That is about as creative as I have gotten, so far!

I'm sure everyone has heard this about a million times from me--- but, hey, why not post it again? :)

Music is a big thing with both our families--- I was trained in classical voice and piano for 17 years, FI plays guitar, his sisters sing, my brother is a musician, my mom plays the accordian, his mom was a singer, his dad was a jazz musician, etc... you get the picture!

So we're doing guitar keychains for the placecards and the table numbers will be the a famous older-generation musician (Frank Sinatra, etc...) and the table number cards will have a quote from love songs from this era of music.

As for other ways of being creative (beyond the DIY invites and various other stationary), I'm sketching designs for our wedding cake and our table decor.

That's about all I can think of for now...

I LOVE how personal your ideas are! My FI plays guitar in a band and we were thinking about doing a guitar shaped grooms cake. Thank you for sharing!

Oh, and Raydensmama, I love the parasol idea :)

Oh yeah---- our flowergirl will carry a mini-sombrero turned upside down with rose petals to throw.

If we get a ring bearer who could walk with her, I'll probably make a banner for them to carry down the aisle that says "Here comes the bride!" or something like that... (I saw that somewhere, but I don't remember if it was from someone here, The Knot, or in one of the wedding magazines I've become addicted to).

Also, my dad makes the world's best fudge! (I kid you not, everyone who has ever tried it says so too and beg me to make it all the time) So, since neither of my parents can attend the wedding, I'm going to make dad's secret fudge recipe, my mom's oatmeal bars and my almond sugar cookies to give out as favors to everyone.

We might also burn a CD of FI's mother's last performance for all our guests.

And that's all I'm thinking of right now... (see what happens when you have 2 years to plan a wedding?!?!) :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
