Were your Guests Fans...of the Fans?!

I have a question for all you brides who made / bought ceremony fans for your DW.

 

Did your guests use the fans...to fan themselves??

 

I think they are such a great idea for DW's and I'm all excited to take on a wee DIY challenge but I'm just torn with weather or not anyone will use them. And then...post ceremony did they hang on to them or will we be lumbered with 50 fans?!

 

(If someone knows how to make this a poll i would really appreciate it!)

My best friend had a DW with 90 people and about 15% used the fans. That is one thing she said she wished she didn't do. Everyone is different though.

Almost everyone used our fans. We had our WC set them out ahead of time, and we put our ceremony progams on them. It was a really easy DIY too.

I was also wondering the same thing! The fans seem like such a good idea, but I'm worried about people not using them. Seems like there's mixed reviews on this.

Hmmm, I'd say about 1/2 by guests used the fans, it happened to be hot but a little windy the day of the wedding, but when the wind wasn't blowing it helped with the heat.

I was debating this also. I guess alot could depend on the day and weather...i know in Jamaica it can get breezy on the beach!!

We put the fans in a basket that people saw as they arrived for the ceremony. It was windy at the gazebo on my day so not many used them during the ceremony.

 

However, during the reception, which we had to have at 4:30 PM (it was HOT) the fans were used not only as a fan but also to block the sun from people's eyes for those who forgot their sunglasses.

I know when I went to my MoH's wedding I was so glad she gave us fans. I was dripping by the end of the ceremony. I'm giving them out regardless of whether they use them or not. I still have her fan as a keepsake of her wedding.

I too was wondering the same thing! I think I'm going to attach my programs to the fans.
