Once you get there you will see how relaxing it is and everyone will hang out together! Everyone has to make their own fun and not rely on the bride and groom :) It's your moment! You can set up group tours once you are there. We used olympus and for example you can get a private cataraman if you can get at least 20 ppl to sign up and usually you and your husband will be free!

Thank you Katie! its a excellent choice for our group... I don't want to give his brother  an impression of he won't see his brother at all, but I want him to understand that he is their for a wedding not a 3rd bachelor party...

OK I am a exactly one month away and had a few questions....

1. Does the resort provide the sand ceremony?? Ithought I remember reading somewhere that they did provide that.

2. For cake cutting should we bring our own knife for that also??

3. Did they give anyone a hard time or do a bad job with the pressing of the dress and husbands clothing??

4. Did anyone use bubbles or are you allowed to have bubbles for after the ceremony??

5. Looking for plain maracas to order as favors. Can anyone recomend a site that is not ridiculously priced?? I would need about 65 pairs of maracas

That is all i can think of right now but as with everything else I am sure I will remember anything else after I post this.

Ditto! Haha, i know, right?  Again, same situation, and I completely agree.  She never officially confirmed my date either, but I guess being that she sent the authorization form, that was supposed to be my cue.  I, like you, just wanted that peace of mind of knowing for sure that it was "my date" so I could start on STDs.  Not sure if you have done it already, but I would go ahead and knock out two birds with one stone . . . confirm your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception time/areas when you confirm your date to speed up the process and ensure your location/times of choice. Ooh, and a quick tip . .. when you finally get charged, my receipt only displayed the price in pesos which looks like the US dollar sign.  Long story short, i flipped my sh*t(lol) when i saw $6392 on the receipt as opposed to $500, figure I had gotten charged several times because they asked for my card three seperate times, called and eventually realized that it was indeed in pesos. Good luck!

Oh good tip about the credit card, thanks! And I FINALLY heard back from Eva, although all she did was ask for the authorization form again, ugh! At least she wrote back, so we'll see what happens! Thanks again!

I have hard time to contact my WP for the last few weeks. It ends up all my emails decode as garbage and their system reject it and send to the spam mail box. You may want to send the email and CC it to [email protected]. Hopefully someone will pick up the email and forward it to your planner.

Thanks, I did finally hear back, although not with any answers but at least I know she got my emails. Gosh I am only just beginning and I'm already frustrated, lol! Once I just get that official confirmation though, I'll be good for awhile ;-)

Have you commented on the Dreams Riviera Cancun facebook page? I have heard that you get an almost immediate response there because they don't like the bad press. Give that a shot. My TA took care of this for me so it was no issue. I knew within two days that my date was confirmed. If you need a reference, I am working with a fabulous TA in Denver. Best of luck!

I haven't been on here since I booked my date of May 18th 2013.  I'm in the process of purchasing a home so as soon as that is done I'm starting my planning process.  In the meantime I'm trying to catch up on the thread I think I have about 50 pages to go. I did see someone else has the same date as I do, let me know who that is.  Maybe we can talk about our big day since we are sharing it and to confirm that locations are not being double booked :) as I have seen someone post that.  In any case the first thing on my list is to find a dress ECCKKK!!  I have a friend who is going to officiate the wedding, if anyone has any ceremony scripts please send them over to me if you can, thanks in advance [email protected]

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
