I think the vase I bought is 8-10 inches high, so I hope they don't blow out. I was thinking of filling them with less water so the candle is deeper in the vase. I didn't even think about the wind... it is funny how you forget the little (but important) details sometimes!

I believe if comes out to be somewhere near $60pp which is $2400 for 40 people. If you do the love package ($2160) plus the 20 additional in place of the cocktail it is $400 extra, so you are looking at $2560 with the package. You would be paying about $200 more with the package, but you would get some extra things. You could see about making some substitutions for those additional items (videographer in place of photographer?). Do you need your hair done and make-up? That is included in the love package. Look over the additional items and see what works best for you! For us, we are having 40 people and it made more sense you go with the package. Once I started adding things to the free package the price went up quickly!
Which package did you go with?

With having about 40 guests (any my own photographer and own person marrying us) do you think we should do the FREE wedding package (and do everything as a la carte) or do one of the other ones (and just add on the additional people)? We will have about 20 extra- but will not want the cocktail hour either- so is what you are saying is that Ana said we can use that "cocktail hour" to go towards our actual reception??

        Thanks.
        Hi Rdsjcr!
I was going to do the free package thinking we would save money...but after adding everything up it was cheaper for us to do the package. We are doing the ultimate and haven't decided about the cocktail hour or not yet.

Yeah I heard the wind can cause havoc for candles on the table, that is why I love this idea - I figure if you have the candle an inch or two away from the top the cylinder itself should protect the flame from blowing out. I am doing orchids for an accent color for my bouquet and it would be great to put some orchids in the cylinder, is that liquid just water? would we then have to find floating candles and simply place them on top?

I received some answers from Ana, and I'm not sure if anyone else was waiting waiting with similar questions:

-She confirmed that artifical flower boquets were ok to use

-If you are just having a low-key reception (I am planning on just having dinner at one of the restaurants), you are free to just show up to one of the restaurants and hope that you can sit relatively close with your guests. They will also hold your cake for you in the kitchen so that you can have it out at your dinner, as long as you pick the site ahead of time.

-I also recieved a file with the free boquet options if anyone would like to see them.

            Hopefully this helps!
Thats so much for your update. This is very helpfull! I know I posted this earlier but in case you were not aware...if you are having a small amount of people (18 or less) you can reserve the wine cellar and have a private dinner with your guests there instead of fighting for tables near each other in one of the restaurants. I was told all we would need to pay for is $80/adult couple in wine. So if you like wine and think you would drink that much its a pretty good deal.

Reception Location Survey- Where are you having your dinner?
              Pool Deck or Pool Terrace??
The pictures on page 51/52 confuse me. I can't tell the difference in location or attributes from the photos! Help!

I did not include the alcohol is the price. I am still debating about that. I think for 2 hours we could just cruise along the water without any alcohol (plus I am worried that if people drink too much the night before the wedding... and if we are at an all-inclusive they will probably already be drunk!). I haven't been able to find any other sunset cruises... I am still waiting to hear back from a few companies.

I think I will look into other transportation as well. It is about an hour away from the hotel, so I thought $350 was a pretty reasonable rate for all 40 people. Ultimately I would have liked to find a company closer (Puerto Morelos would be perfect) but I have not been able to!
Email them and ask if they will come to Puerto Morelos. Today I asked them and they said that sometimes they are able to. They are still looking into this on my date. They have not confirmed anything yet. I would be so happy if they were able to. They said it will take a few days to figure it out. Now I'm putting off my invites until I hear back from them so I can include this information. I got really excited and will be bummed out now if they are unable to meet my request. I'm not sure my guests will want to drive for an hour each way

I will have dinner on the pool deck. It is an actual wooden deck and sits just below the pool. There is a little waterfall that forms over the infinity pool. When the lights are on it, it looks blue. Very pretty. The pool terrace is on the cement where the pool chairs are located during the day. I think it would be pretty too but it is a larger area and it might seem kind of big if there are only 30 or 40 people. That's just my opinion.

I agree my reception will also be on the Pool Deck - I think it is a great location with the wood deck and the infinity pool with blue lights make a perfect backdrop and add to the ambience of the reception :)
