Dreams Riviera Cancun - Brides post here (new thread)

Recommended Posts

I just started doing my DIY stationary.  I just purchased all the materials online (including envelopes) about $100 shipped.  It will be enough  (hopefully) for the invitations, reply cards, thank you cards, seating cards, and ceremony programs.  I just need to purchase a paper cutter which I'll get at Staples.

I used this website for the invites and downloaded the template they have.

http://www.formal-invitations.com/instructions/make-invitations.html?Screen=USL&Code=invitation-instructions

Pretty simple.  I'm doing something like the 2nd one with royal blue cardstock, white organza and green satin ribbon around it.  I'm also doing the reply cards the same way but without the ribbon.

I also did a monogram using this website:

How this helps anyone who needs some ideas.  I'll post pictures once I start working on them.

My wedding is April 30th... Im getting BEYOND STRESSED ...

The resort is beautiful however Eva is telling me the only option for my reception is the ballroom... and the whole point of having a mexico wedding is to have something outdoors... I dont want the beach because I dont want to be on sand and it will be dark....

Im wondering if its because there are other weddings booked... So many previous brides have had access to pool deck or seaside girll.

Is anyone else having this problem at all? wheres everyone's ceremony,.... im super sad =(

Im arriving on your wedding day!!  We are set for May 3rd!!

We leave in 45 days!!!  I am tying up loose ends and am working on our music, finally...

I decided to use a song for the sand ceremony, but can anyone tell me how long this usually is?

I love Jack Johnson - Angel but it is only 2 minutes. I'm worried it's not long enough.

Also, anyone know about how many minutes of music we need to get the parents and bridal party down the aisle? I'm getting married at the gazebo and I'm not sure where we we start from!!

Also, if anyone can share their song choices for processional, recessional, walking down the aisle, etc that would be a great help!!!

I would have to say music was the last thing I worked on and it was super hard for me to decide on. I only have 9 days left till we leave for Mexico and I'm all ready to go!!!

For the music I rented the sound system and I will be bringing a CD and IPad to play the music just in case one doesn't work I atleast have a backup. I'm not sure if you hired the DJ but from a previous review I had read that the DJ can run the sound system for your ceremony so if you haven't already maybe ask him if he would do this for you, and as far as I know there is no extra charge. That way he will know when to cut songs and if need be replay a song.

I'm not sure how long the sand ceremony and bridal party walk down the aisle to the gazebo is going take. I can't imagine the sand ceremony taking more then a couple minutes but for the bridal party maybe have 1 very long song. For the ceremony I used all Vitamin String Quartet songs, which in general are longer.  Here are the songs I picked:

Ceremony: All of these are by the Vitamin String Quartet
Guests Seating Don't Stop Believing-VSQ cover of Journey
Wonderful Tonight-VSQ cover of Eric Clapton
Love Story- VSQ cover of Taylor Swift
Groom & Bridal Party Can't help falling in Love- VSQ cover of Michael Buble

Bride Marry Me- By Train-there is an instrumental version

comes up when you google VSQ Marry Me (has a CD cover with a bird on it)

Sand Ceremony/Signing the Papers Just the Way You Are-VSQ cover of Bruno Mars
Exit I'm Yours-VSQ version of Jason Mraz (also download reg version)

Also, don't forget a bridal party entrance song, your entrance song, dance songs and cake cutting and if your doing garter/bouquet toss. So much small stuff!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
