oh ok! is he the backup? When I asked for DJ information they only gave me one guys name. I guess maybe they assign different people to different DJ's? Interesting...

This is very interesting to hear because when I asked about DJ options they told me the only one I could use with the Visual Sound. He is considered one of the Hotel DJ's and he is considered one of the technicians to be used for the sound system for the ceremony and all the prices are set up through the resort (you don't pay him directly). I just assumed he was "owned" by the resort.

I heard another bride talk greatly about him so I don't have any reservations about using him at all. And he's always quick about responding.

It's so funny how different coordinators tell us different things!!!

I may have pushed the DJ issue a little with them.  I had wanted to use Doremixx but Lorena told me he was prohibited and AVI or Visual sound were the only authorized vendors.  I am having a bit of a problem getting a quote for the dance floor though.  AVI said I needed to get the prices from Dreams for all of their services, but AVI also told me they would give me a discount on the lighted dance floor since I was booking so far in advance.  When I continued to question the DJ services and prices with Lorena I have been told multiple prices.  I'm very frustrated with the whole DJ and dance floor issue.

It seems like the more I question and push an issue though, the more options I get from them (and the more things are included).  The contact info I was given for AVI is [email protected] and [email protected]

We are having a legal ceremony out there and i haven't heard this, I think if you request a lady called Linda she speaks very good English and can be understood!

The only thing i am worried about is the blood tests and maybe not getting our certificate back for 6 months so i cannot change my name but apart from that it all seems good.

Do you have any kind of check list agenda that you are using to stay organize you could share with me?

I thought there was a sheet the resort had you fill about regarding all the decisions but I could not find it?

Lorena has not gotten in touch with me AT ALL!!  What is your email?  I will send you what I have been using.  :)  I will also send you my resort survey.  I have been communicating with the wedding manager Evangelina instead of Lorena since she fails to reply to my emails!

Oh good! So this Linda can do legal? Phew! I thought I would need a translator. It's on their Q&A, wonder why they say that? Thank you!

Anyone have an opinion on the Jacuzzi area for cocktail hour that has been there? I'm on the fence; either pool deck where the dinner reception will be or the Jacuzzi area. Not sure if the break up of locations would be weird?

Ceremony at 5:00 @ Gazebo

Cocktail Hour at 7:00 @ Either Jacuzzi or Ocean Front Pool Deck

Dinner Reception at 8:00 @ Ocean Front Pool Deck

Hmmm...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
