I had to have a funeral for about 35 hadbags, carry on bags, duffelbags, backpacks, etc today.

I have a thing for bags. I probably had about 60 when I met FI and gave some away to my mom when I moved. I'm not into the COACH or FENDI thing, I love the Kathy Van Zeeland bags and the GUESS kind of style with bling...I had probably 8 or 9 bags I got with my Victoria's Secret purchases in the last year or so (if you buy a lot from VS, you know what I'm talking about)
I just love having cute bags that match my outfits and a lot of them, so I'd rather have a bunch of fun inexpensive ones then spend a ton of $ on them.

So, when I moved in with FI, so did my bags, They were in boxes (not sealed tubs) and were moved from the spare basement to the basement a few months ago.

Well, I went down to find my backpack to take on a daytrip yesterday and realized that almost EVERYTHING is covered with MOLD!!!!!

We knew we had some mold that we were trying to take care of, but had no idea how quickly it was spreading - almost all of my bags are covered - FI felt so bad he wanted to take them to get cleaned, but so many of them are older and I didn't pay a ton of $$$ for them, so I didn't feel like it was worth the money to get them cleaned - I just took out the few that I did pay a lot for or that looked like they will be ok.

So all of them were out on the deck, and it started freaking pouring, on top of everything else, so they are really totally ruined now - I just went out there and said goodbye to them.

The one good thing is that for Chanukah this year, FI got me the one expensive bag I do own - a Juicy Coutour, that was NOT in the basement, so isn't ruined. WHEW!!!!

totally an excuse to start collecting more!! that is the agreement I have with FI and shoes, for every few pairs I buy I have to agree to get rid of one I no longer wear

I think FI feels worse than I do about it. He doesn't realize how much I enjoy shopping for bags!
