The Freak-Out Thread

Haha, I think this is supposed to actually be my "Planning" Thread, but really, I need a freak-out thread!! 13 days to go, 7 till we leave, the invoice (which I think we've been over-billed) is due... Plus we just moved to a new place a week and a half ago! So I decided this is where I'll post my ups and downs, and you can post yours, too, because if you're anything like me, no matter how much time is left, every ten minutes or so your feelings are changing!!

Let me start...

Right now I'm happy because my FI is making a banging playlist for our wedding.

And right now I'm sad because so many of my family members and dearest friends are going to miss our wedding, and I don't know when we'll get the chance or have a reason to get together again in the near future...

I honestly can't believe I'm this stressed out. read this: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t46787 then couple that with the fact that I have a wedding planner that never answers her phone, or returns messages. I'm so over it. I wish we had eloped...

Jillian, I thought nothing could stress me out more that the $$ spent for this DW. But I was wrong... actually, it does all come back to the $$.

Aww Ebbica I read your thread about the cottage - that really sucks. I think this thread is great for all of us. I'm sure I will use it A LOT.

The last week of planning is going to make you insane. But on your special day, just go with the flow and everything will be amazing. Deep breaths until then. *hugs*

Ebbica everything will work out as it always does and your day will be just perfect!

I'm freaking out because I am almost at the 3 month point and am still trying to get my bridesmaid(FSIL) to come try on the dress and order it! She just keeps makes excuses and it's driving me insane. She says she's coming tomorrow..I"ll believe it when I see her here and we actually go.

On the other hand my sister who is my Matron of Honor has been absolutely AMAZING!!! I am so thankful I have her and she's been such a great help.

Can I join in on this thread? I am freaking out too because of various reasons:

-wedding was originally supposed to be in April but both (yes both) maid of honor and bridesmaid got preggo and were both due in March! So rescheduled for Oct, then bridesmaid who had a miscarriage, found out she was preggo again and due mid Sept! Didn't reschedule this time...

-now my original maid of honor (1st cousin), decided to quit her job and stay home and says she really can't afford to go! She had over a year to save up $$$!!!

-AHR has become mega stressful. For various reasons it had to be pushed to end of August. I have had people tell me that they want to see us have a ceremony there becuz since they aren't going, it is the real wedding to them WTF?!

-the friends and family who aren't willing to shell out $$$ right now due to the economy.....why didn't we get married a few years ago?!

-my grandma telling me she can't believe I am not getting married in the Catholic church and is disappointed that I have chosen to get married on the beach.

This is the second marriage for both my FI and I, and we wanted something different. Since we weren't going to do the anullment process we weren't getting married in the Catholic church. But we both fell in love with the idea of a destination wedding. With all the stress we are under right now, I kind of just wish I would have eloped! :o(

Wow! I feel for you if that helps at all! I know we all have our heads up and we think positively, but it's good to have a place where we can let it all out too, right?
For my fellow BDW brides, I have vented and worried more to you girls than to my own MOH, FMIL, mother. I don't know what I would do without this forum!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
