If you were a guest....

Hey everyone, I need some opinions

I found a church I really like but it is about 50 min away from the hotel. The other churches are only 20ish min away from the hotel. We are planning on getting a bus for everyone to get to the church and back so it should be a pretty fun ride.

As a guest would you mind the extra time in the bus?

Thanks for the help!

I personlly really don't like long trips from a wedding to a reception. But, a bus might make it fun. Will it be like a party bus vibe? if the party can get started on the bus, then 50 minutes would be fine. You could have fun music playing & just start the celebration. On my first trip to cancun, one of the most fun times was a trip to the clubs on the public bus. There was a guy playing guitar & we all sang along. It was a blast. Even more fun than the club.

if it's more like the chartered van trips, I stick with 20 minutes. It's usually hot & I know I'd just be burnt out after a over 1 1/2 hours in a van round trip. Our van ride from the airport to the hotel and then to the ruins wasn't exactly fun.

I would stick with one of the closer churches. 50+ minutes on a bus each way is a long trip just for a 30-45 min ceremony (if even that long). As a guest, I would be a little irritated. But, as a bride, if it is a fabulous church, and you can't see yourself getting married anywhere else, go for it!

I'm with Meg&Shay on this - pick the closer church. It's not going to be a bus on a beautifully paved highway like up here in the US/Canada - it's probably going to be a bumpy ride and they've already traveled quite a way to come to the wedding.

Even as a bride, you're going to get ready at the hotel, then sit on a bus for an hour, then get married, then sit on the bus again, take pictures, then go to the reception? That's a looooong day!

Pick the church you love! Its not like a regular wedding, you are all on vacation anyway! I say go for the one you love, I'm sure your guests will love it too! I don't know about busses in Mexico, but I went on a 45min.rented bus ride in Jamaica with a group to get to a special event and it was so much fun! We sang to Bob Marley the whole way there and back! See if you can bring a mix CD your guests will enjoy!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
