I'm looking for quotes right now for a June 2010 wedding. I've gotten quotes from $1900 - $2150 for the Riu Palace in Los Cabos from Toronto. This is higher than I expected, but we're also looking at passing on the savings of the "16th person free" to our guests. We don't know if we should wait and see if the prices drop.

Congrats, and welcome. I would suggest Cuba to you since you are Canadian. There should be no problem finding something less than $1500.00 We are going and our 1 week guests are paying just over $1000.00 and we are going for 2 weeks and paying just over $1300.00 per person. Time of year will also greatly affect the price. To keep prices at their lowest I suugest you go in one of the off seasons. That will keep the resort cost down as flight hardly ever changes. The Dominican is also cheaper. These places tend to be cheaper for us because the flight is a little shorter. I have found that the longer the flight the more the package tends to cost. Good Luck I hope you find the place of your dreams.

Our guests are paying about $1000 pp for 5 nights. This includes all alcohol and most food. We figure airfare for most people will be $400 average since most are on the west coast.

We definitely considered our guests costs but we also had to take into consideration the wedding location. We didn't want to get married at a big AI and we also wanted to hotel to be more intimate so our group could all hang out together.

If you're not as concerned about cost of the wedding for you two, you might consider an AI that is reasonable and have the wedding at a villa. However, so many AIs are really great locations and offer great wedding packages.

Good luck!

Our guests are paying $764/pp for 4 nights. The airfare right now is $400 so we are waiting on that to drop before we tell people to start booking their flights. We travel a lot and have noticed that they usually start discounting the air fare abour 2-3 months out from travel dates. So, I think it will end up costing everyone about 1,200/pp for 4 nights. Thats $291/pp per night which includes EVERYTHING. I think that is a pretty good deal.

I have a timeshare at Sandos in Playa Del Carmen. They are allowing me to book multiple weeks at once. The rooms usually cost $300 per night but my guests are paying $150.00 per person for the rooms for 7 nights pluss $55 a day for all you can eat and drink. The plane tickets are around $300 so each guests total is $850 for the whole week including flight. My timeshare is insured and the only reason I got it was for the wedding. We are gonna sell it after our first anniversary.

We decided on going to Punta Cana in April 2010 becuase it is definatly cheaper than other islands..my sister is my Travel Agent and found Grand Paradise Bavaro for $1,147 taxes in all inclusive, 7 nights, flight with Sunquest and hotel transfers which is an amazing price..I was so happy we totally jumped on it plus for every 8th guest booked 1 goes free so my fiance and I are going free and we were thinking of auctioning off the other free trips at our Stag & Doe...but definatly look into Dominican...Bavaro beach is the most beautiful beach and the price is definatly right! Hope our info helps you out hun!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
