joanna... bora bora?! that is insane! i'm not even sure i know where that is, but all i imagine is those awesome huts that stand on stilts in the middle of crystal clear water! you'll have to let us know where you choose, i'd love to see pictures!

 

tonya, i left a comment on your STD thread, but i have to say you did an amazing job! they are so unique and classy! and i LOVE the raffia bow.. just a subtle little touch that makes a big difference!

 

i have the whole week off from work, and i've found that i actually am on BDW less when i'm at home than when i'm at work! how sad is that?? tells you how productive i am at work!

 

at least i have plenty of time to get ready for my BD and engagement pics next weekend! i can't WAIT! i went to visit one of my friends yesterday and just wandering around this cute area of Columbus (Ohio) i found a lingerie shop that had my DREAM BD pic outfit. because of a very large tattoo on my right side i've had to find outfits that are solid colors because patterns clash so bad. they had a matching bright pink bra/panty set that had just a touch of purple trim. it was the last set, my exact size and 25% off! it was destiny!

 

and correct me if i'm wrong, but this week you early april girls' tickers will start saying "8 months" at the beginning won't they?? INSANE!!

OMG, we are hitting the 8 month marker... I remember when the ticker said 12 months and I was excited!

 

Thanks Michele and Erin for the compliments!! Finally, my hard work has paid off lol. Quick question, now what do I do? Do I bring them all to the post office and ask what size postage stamp and give it to them to send? I've never sent this much out before, lol.

 

I'm glad you found your dream BD outfit I still have yet to go shopping for mine, let alone have engagement pics done and you're doing both soon!

 

Just imagine, a year from now we're all gonna look back at all the things we had to do to prepare for our weddings and think it went by so fast...but really, it took me almost 2 months to do my STDs, I wonder how long everything else will take lol.

yup, just take them to the post office and tell them you need the correct postage. they will weigh them and then give you the stamps. i didn't ask for bridal stamps, but they gave me ones with wedding cakes..i think they assumed pink sparkley envelopes had to be something wedding related!

omg, i can't imagine a year from now.. it seems so weird!!!

joanna.. i mentioned bora bora to jeremy and he got all excited. he's now insisting that's where we go on our "delayed honeymoon"!

Hi Ladies!

I'm getting married in August of 2010. I'm going to check out two resorts this August: Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana and Dreams Punta Cana. Erin, i saw that's your wedding destination, what made you decide between DPBPC and DPC? I have been debating between these two resorts for some time and decided it would be best to check them out before booking. Anyway. I'm excited for all you ladies that have already decided on a location and sent out your STDs. Hopefully after I get back I can get started.

 

About STDs some resorts ask for an $80 - $90 fee for each guest not staying at the resort. Obviously, I plan to cover that for my guest but I realize it can get expensive if more and more people choose to stay elsewhere. Did anyone address that in their STDs?

 

How about welcome bags? any of you ladies planning on that for your guests? I really like the idea but I hate to travel with lots of stuff.

 

Erin did you talk to your wedding planner about linens ?I've seen some pics of a beach reception with beautiful gold linens. Tell me what you liked about the resort.

The countdown (on the ticker) is going a little faster than I thought it would! FI laughs when I tell him it's " 9 months one week and one day" or whatever it happens to be at that moment.

 

I never got around to engagement pictures. A friend was going to do them for us and we haven't found the time. We've been traveling a lot and will be all summer so I think we're just going to skip them, but I definitely want to do the BD pics. One of the other BDW girls had a link to a great place in Philly where she makes the girls into almost like pinup girls. I'll have to find that again. i wanted to wait till I'm in a little better shape....hopefully in the fall!

 

Today I found out my TA doesn't really do much for the airfare - I've seen the rates jump 3 times on Air Jamaica and she told me "Oh you should jump on it - unless ALL of my guests can book at the same time and she needs at least 10 people to get a group rate. I don't think she told me that before.

So annoying.
