Advice needed :-)

No Problem. I agree with you totally I am having a hard time asking for anything of even feeling like I want a shower. But I remind myself that people will probably give you things anyway...so you really should get what you want or in your case NEED!!! I know it will work out :)

Since your wedding is almost a year away there's also a good likelihood (hopefully) that you and your FI will get new jobs and you'll in the end be able to choose (and pay for) the photographer you want...Realistically I'm sure there are a TON of gals who don't book their photog that far out under normal circumstances - I sure didn't. I'd say you have several more months to see if you can right the ship before you have to worry about Plan B.

I think it's a great idea -- I would much rather get a gift that you would actually USE instead of a toaster oven that sat in a closet, unopened. And your friends probably know your situation right now. I think it is a great idea -- keep us posted!

Your guests have the opportunity to contribute to something that not only you, but your family in the years to come will appreciate and treasure (not like a kitchen clock). If I was a guest I would be honoured to help out in this way.

I say go for it. I would talk to photographers regarding payment options (ours has a paypal account) so you can choose who you want. If you do manage to fall on your feet in the meantime - you can use the spare money creating a great start to married life

I think it's a great idea. If someone offered to chip in for wedding photos I think that'd be the greatest gift of all.... far better than a toaster :)

I like the wording mentioned above..."if you'd like to help our day be picture perfect, visit www.fghjk.com for more info on our wedding photography registry" or something like that.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
